A Seafood Haven Without Breaking the Bank. KK Garden Seafood in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, offers an enticing seafood experience that won't strain your wallet. Sabah's reputation for top-notch seafood holds true here, providing excellent value for money. Upon entering, we were greeted by an impressive showcase of live seafood in aquarium tanks, featuring tiger prawns, various fish, crabs, and oysters - a balanced selection that catered to our budget. For those new to Malaysian live seafood dining, fret not about your budget. You can opt for frozen seafood by simply informing the staff, which offers high-quality options at a more affordable price. We relished prawns (not live), prepared in a delectable buttery style. Deep-fried to crispy perfection with spices and eggs, they were remarkably fresh and satisfying. A giant oyster from the tank, priced at around RM 10 each, was a steal but came with a somewhat chewy texture. This reminded us that larger shellfish in Malaysia may lack the desired tenderness. The true star of the meal was the live crabs from the tank, prepared in a chili style. Their succulent, flavorful meat left us craving more. We also sampled a large pomfret (not live) cooked sweet and sour, a must-try with its crispy batter and flavorful sauce. The fried squid (not live) was expertly cooked – crispy on the outside, tender and juicy inside. Our seafood feast was accompanied by perfectly paired fried vegetables and egg-fried rice, with the fried rice boasting that sought-after wok hei flavor. Efficient service, with attentive waitstaff offering cooking suggestions, and a clean, bright ambiance that allowed us to enjoy our meal without any surprises, rounded out our experience at KK Garden Seafood. It's the go-to spot in Kota Kinabalu for affordable, quality seafood, ensuring you can savor the flavors of Sabah without breaking the bank. Restaurant with a lot of live seafood. Staff checked the chosen seafood weight together with customers and immediately sum up. All dishes taste are surprising good especially the sabah vege and steam fish. Highly recommend Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
This place is unreal! Food is really really good, fresh and tasty. Pricing is too good to be true. AMAZINGLY affordable. Never had such good seafood even my picky kids loved it. Dont forget to order Sabah Vege and their Siakap Nyonya. Hygene wise, I am usually very picky especially when it comes to restaurants. This must be the cleanest seafood restaurant i've ever been to. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person RM 100–120 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Salted Egg

We came by to the restaurant after island hopping with empty stomach. By reading majority of the reviews before attending we expected some standard with that kind of price. The food arrive was FAST and DELICIOUS. The seafood is FRESH. HOWEVER THE SERVICE IS TERRIBLE. The staff are slow and not tentative. We had to wait and waive to get their attention. Your staff should attend to us frequently and check on us regularly, ask if we need anything. And they didnt even bother to say 'thank you' when we walk out from the restaurant. Does not feel appreciated. And we take away my son's nasi goreng, very shoking, just put it in a plastic bag. With that service charge that u charged us, mehhh. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person RM 80–100 Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes Wet Butter Prawn

Apparently a bit not friendly to solo purchaser as the minimum order is 300 gram above. I tried to negotiate for lesser gram but cannot. The waiter was very attentive and suggested ala carte instead. So I bought a fried rice with butter prawn. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
The salted egg mud crabs & the dry butter prawns that we had were very fresh & delicious. Highly recommended. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person RM 40–60 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes Salted Egg
