The best experience ever! The staff were so kind, and even stayed open later to accommodate our large group. Food was amazing, but our waiter, who we affectionately named “Medium” Jay was the ultimate show stopper. Definitely a must do if in the area! Stopped by on a lark on our way back from Fort Morgan. We enjoyed the food and the price wasn't too much given the quality of the food. We had the Fried Shrimp Po Boys and a side of hushpuppies. Everything was tasty but I wish they'd have put on the remoulade sauce! Definitely will be back! Visiting Gulf Shores and happily found King Neptune. It has been the best food and service we have had. Kevin was our waiter and was a delight. Don't miss this place to eat. We have been several times and everything we have had has been delicious. Our favorite place to eat. We had their lunch menu on 12/22/23 and both my wife and I thought our meals were delicious and well served. She had blackened chicken and I had hamburger steak (with cooked mushrooms and onions). We both had steamed veggies and sweet potato casserole as sides (included). You also get your choice of dessert or cornbread or hush puppies. Drink is also included. Price was very reasonable. We recommend them highly and will be coming back many times as we are here until end of April 2024. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
Came here on a recommendation from one of the locals during our (NC-TX-AL) 40th anniversary celebration trip! Great place to grab a bite and chill. The manager, Seon, was an excellent host and really made us feel at home! FYI, they have flounder available, even though it may not show on the menu. We ate a great dinner here with fresh seafood at a reasonable price. Right on 59 in the heart of Gulf Shores. Fast friendly service is a plus. It’s late September so no waiting at all. Crab platter for my son, shrimp and fish platter for my wife and I had the jumbo shrimp. All three were great. We have been coming to Gulf Shores for 23 years (give or take a year or 2 here and there) and we have never eaten at King Neptune’s until last night. Let me tell you this place is a gem! We are going back tonight and will always make a point to eat here again when in Gulf Shores. Chargrilled oysters - good! Sautéed crab claws- best we ever had! Blackened Shrimp Tacos -delicious! Shrimp and Grits- some of the best we’ve eaten (and we’ve eaten a lot in the southern US) Sampled the crab and corn bisque and seafood gumbo. Both good but we thought the seafood gumbo was some of the best we ever ate. Homemade key lime - had to get this to go and ate later! Delicious!! It was great to talk to the owners as they made you feel right at home. And let me tell you about Jay, our server! He was excellent! He told us all about the food and brought us samples. He was such fun and a treat to be around! Be sure to ask for Jay when you visit! We watched all the servers there and they all did a great job! Thanks King Neptune's Seafood Restaurant for the great food and conversation! #eatwherethelocalseat #tastetrippingwithtomcatandamy Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

After trying some places on Dauphin Island we decided to try our luck at a place in Gulf Shores when we visited Fort Morgan. Food was DELICIOUS and worth the money paid. Far from "cheap" at $18-$50 a plate depending on what you order but we left FULL. Unlike other places we spent similar amounts of money and walked away hungry. In the photos below the "empty" spot on the sample platter is where the corn and potatoes were when served...that dish was based on "current market prices"-with 2 types of shrimp and crab legs. The alfredo plate was a kids plate-she didn't care for the sauce but her sister did so if you have a picky eater avoid that. Service was great, Friendly and fast. Will definitely make this a place we return to! Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes Royal Red Shrimp
Skip the 2 hour wait everywhere else and go here! Great menu, reasonable prices, friendly service. The shrimp and grits and gator bites appetizer (blackened) were our fave dishes of those we ordered. This is not the first visit we’ve had to King Neptunes, but I have to say it’s the worst. To begin with, there wasn’t a wait to get a table, but there was an unfortunate wait to get our food. Our server may have had a rough day — I’m not sure — but that translated to poor service. We waited fifteen minutes to even see our server, fifteen minutes to have our drinks dropped off, and easily thirty minutes to get our food… when other tables were getting theirs with speed and ease. As someone who works in food service, I certainly would have considered the kitchen times. This wasn’t that, truly I think we were forgotten. But… the kitchen wasn’t the greatest either. I’m not sure what’s changed, but their food was bland, my PoBoy was missing lettuce and tomato, and it took multiple asks for remoulade for the sandwich. The flounder wasn’t seasoned. The tartar was good, though! All in all, I’m bummed that it wasn’t a better meal. It’s always been excellent before. If they manage to stay in business (and I hope they do), we’ll try again one day.
