Well known bakery in Dallas that just relocated to Orange County! Their specialty is bánh pía, which they offer in durian, taro, and red bean flavors. The bánh pía itself is flaky with a soft center and has great flavor! If you can’t make it in, they said they ship across the country. They offer a wide variety of Vietnamese baked goods including bánh tiêu, bánh bông lan trứng muối and bánh phục linh. Also tried the fresh nước mía (sugarcane juice); it was so refreshing and had perfect amount of kumquat. The owners were so kind, friendly, and helpful and there are some tables and chairs in the bakery so you can sit down and enjoy your treats. Definitely would recommend checking out this bakery and supporting their family-owned business!
I don’t usually eat this kind of pastry, but I just wanted to give it a try. I had a bánh pía and it was alright, not good or bad. It’s priced at $6.50 for one which feels expensive for what it is, but I wouldn’t know because I’ve never bought one prior to this one.
But my main issue is with the customer service. The worker was so rude and impatient. As I’ve said, I don’t usually eat this kind of pastry so I was trying to take my time deciding what to get and I was also on FaceTime with my girlfriend so we were talking and deciding together. The worker then proceeded to pull out his phone and start mocking me. I think he was also filming me too because where I went, he would follow. It was very weird.
I don’t even do reviews, but my experience here was just so bad and uncomfortable so I had to share with you guys.
The owner and his wife were very sweet and accommodating. I would definitely recommend dropping by and picking up some pastries here if you're in the area!
