Great sushi and excellent customer service ! I ordered the John roll and vegetable tempura. The sauce on the John roll was really good! Probably one of the best rolls I've ever had! Came in with a big group of 11 people and they had some big tables towards the back of the restaurant that comfortable accommodated our entire party. The hostess was very nice and attentive and answered all of our questions. Had a few different servers and all were very friendly and made the experience very positive. Sunday is all day happy hour! I posted a picture of the happy hour, with most dishes being discounted about $5! Large selection from the happy hour menu to choose from. I ended it all with some mochi ice cream for dessert! They had 7 flavors to choose from: vanilla, red bean, coffee, strawberry, mango, chocolate and 1 other that I can't quit remember. I got the vanilla and red bean and did not regret my decision at all! The red bean was my favorite! Highly recommend for small and even larger groups! My friend introduced me to Kansai and I am definitely going back. Although I’ve been living near the area, I had no idea about Kansai. They’ve got a variety to choose from, with endless amount of sushi rolls to drinks. The best thing about the place is their sushi rolls are big. I was also very surprised at how fresh their fish were. The ambience is very nice as well and the staff is very friendly and you can definitely notice that in their service. We went there at Sunday night and they have happy hour menu all day long. All dishes on happy hour menu are discounted. The chirashi sashimi is fresh and very good. I wanted some good sushi in Oakland and initially found directions to another place nearby. The Uber driver said if I was looking for sushi, then Kansai was the place. He was right. Nice selection, preparation, and presentation was beautiful. I think the size of each plate was generous as well. I would recommend it and I'll return again whenever I'm in Oakland. Wanted to try their happy hour 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The food was good but unfortunately one of the dishes we had ordered had a piece of hair in it. When we notified the waitress she wasn't to nice about it but eventually offered a new plate. Very friendly and clean. Sushi rolls are some of the largest I have had and good rice to other selection portions. Highly recommend. They do have their own parking lot which also makes it easy. We ordered three rolls and they were so good! Best sushi place in Oakland. The Volcano Roll is one of my favorites! There is outside sitting and it's really cute to seat out there.
