About
Japanese cuisine under the direction of the great chef is gorgeous here. Order nicely cooked sushi, rolls and tuna. As people see it, the atmosphere is nice here. This restaurant scored 4.9 in the Google rating system.

Good sushi spot, and the price tag really reflects it. Come for the sushi and maybe the appetizers. The non-sushi dishes are okay, probably overpriced for what you’re getting. Their sushi dishes are still pricey, but better portioned, and taste great. It’s a fancy restaurant, so portions are small and prices are high. It is a very nice spot, and they have lots of different sushi dishes to try. Would recommend for a special occasions, but not if you’re just looking for good sushi and/or are on a budget. My recent dining experience at Kanji Sushi was nothing short of enchanting, thanks in large part to the culinary artistry of Chef Tae. From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, Chef Tae's warm hospitality set the stage for an afternoon of gastronomic delight. Chef Tae was not just a chef; he was a gracious host who took the time to connect with us as his guests. His passion for sushi and dedication to his craft were palpable as he guided us through a culinary journey that left an indelible mark on our taste buds. The sushi at Kanji, under Chef Tae's skilled hands, was nothing short of a revelation. Each piece was a testament to his expertise and commitment to perfection. The flavours were exquisite, and the presentation was a work of art. It was evident that Chef Tae poured his heart and soul into each creation, and we felt truly blessed to have experienced his culinary magic. Hands down, Kanji Sushi is one of the best sushi places I've had the pleasure of visiting. The combination of Chef Tae's skill, the quality of the ingredients, and the overall ambiance of the restaurant creates a dining experience that transcends the ordinary. Five stars are an understatement for an establishment that has truly mastered the art of sensory dining. A heartfelt thank you to Chef Tae for the incredible lunch; it was a pleasure meeting you. Everything was fresh, clean, and delicious. We only stopped eating when we absolutely could not eat any more. Bonus: It's always nice to see Chef Tai. He's a super gracious man and a very talented entrepreneur. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Had lunch with an old friend at Kanji Sushi today and it was absolutely amazing! We each got a chopped salad and shared some rolls which was the perfect balance of light and decadent at such a beautiful location. This was our second time at Kanji, and we enjoyed it. We had several great rolls and desert. Our waitress Eriana recommended the creme Brule. It was unique and delicious. The Black Sesame Ice Cream was savory and sweet, definitely different. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $50–100 Food: 5 Service: 5
This is an absolute gem of a sushi restaurant, I cannot recommend it enough. Everything was delicious, the staff was polite and attentive. Every roll was delicate, flavorful and absolutely decadent. Their signature nigiris were so clean and fresh. I couldn’t get enough and wish I lived closer to Kanji. I cannot say it enough to come here and experience their sushi. Would definitely recommend getting a reservation for a weekend visit. 10/10 sushi restaurant. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

March 2023 - A hidden gem in College Station & the best in what they do. Japanese theme/ touch is in everything, including the cocktails - will have to experiment with several to find the one you like :) Food was outstanding- really impressed with the food quality. Some items on the menu really surprised me - to find this in a small town in Texas - Impressed! Although the restaurant has been open just few months, I think they have it figured out. Took away a star for atmosphere only because of the floors - not sure if the peeling floor paint finish was intentional :) Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $100+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

Amazing is all I can say. The sea bass with the miso sauce is delectable. 10/10 recommend. Edamame was a good choice to fight of the hunger as this beautiful meal was prepared. H2O from the finest source, a filtered water supply. And I also tried the matcha crème brûlée, which as you well know was amazing. The price point isn’t bad for what you get. The atmosphere is nice, aesthetically pleasing, and the pond nearby makes for a great place to recollect your thoughts after you’ve been blown away by this meal. Wonderful omasake experience. The owner and staff were incredibly well-educated and prepared a sake pairing list for the dinner. The owner taught us about sushi preparation, cuts of fish, Japanese culture, and traditional ways to eat sashimi (other than buckets of soy sauce). I left the restaurant VERY full and loaded with fun facts to share. The dinner was such a special experience to share with my parents, too. Thank you, chef!
