Eat Sunday lunch here often. Wonderful home style fried chicken and good selection of sides, many are Cajun style. Nice salad bar. LOVE when he does pressure cooked fried chicken, but usually it's just deep fried, but the taste is excellent and the chicken is moist and flavorful. Owner and wait staff are super nice folks. Definitely recommend!
There was nothing cajun about this place, the buffet was salad, fried chicken, rice, broccoli and cauliflower and chicken&dumplings

I got the fried shrimp and they are very big and meaty.
I had some great catfish on the buffet!
I have heard good things, and just hope it was an off day for the cooks. I couldn't eat the fries- they were too greasy. Seemed they were cooked in cold grease. And the Reuben was lacking substance. The bread was quite a delicious rye, but I expect a bit more inside that kind of sandwich. Also...why aren't restaurants avoiding high fructose corn syrup? The bottle of ketchup on the table was a big warning sign that they don't pay attention to the ingredients. 😢

We stopped here after visiting the monument down the road memorializing the first shots of the Texas revolution. Beautiful dining interior and exquisitely furnished, the fresh caught fried catfish platter was amazing. Highly recommend pairing it with the tartar sauce and Cajun hot sauce provided. The salad bar was well maintained and had all the fixings fresh cut and on ice. The homemade boudain links were very well made, some of the best I've ever had, we even ordered some to go. Waitstaff was very polite and professional in accommodating a couple city slickers like ourselves. Johnny himself checked us out and you could tell the pride he took in his fine family establishment. It is family owned establishments such as this with it's pride in Texas culture and history, that make road trips across Texas great, finding little treasures in the wide open country. I will without a doubt be recommending to my friends and family and will definitely return myself. 5/5 stars.
Red beans and rice also fried boudin balls and ff. OMG SOOOO good !!

The band is playing tonight! So much fun. The food is delicious. Husband ate buffet and said it was the best brisket and red beans and rice. I got the Cajun plate with gumbo, hot water fried cornbread and boudain balls. Recommend it highly. First time here and will return soon.

Very welcoming, with friendly and helpful service. The fresh boudin is made there from Mr. Johnny's family recipe, and the smoked boudin links are delicious. We had the fresh and smoked and ate it all up! Mr. Johnny himself manned the cash register. We'll definitely be going back.
