I enjoyed the atmosphere, deco, ambiance etc. more than I enjoyed my meal 🤭 I'll spend more time going through the menu on my next visit. The meal portions are fair given the price tag. We had Pizza and Bolognese. The staff was very welcoming and yeah it's a warm chilled environment, accommodating of both individual and group diners. I'd definitely visit again. This place has honestly restored my faith in Bloem. For the past few years, every time we visit family, we have had the worst experience regarding food and service, but this restaurant redeemed the entire Bloem in one sitting. The waitress was absolutely excellent! Her service was quick and very friendly. Atmosphere was good, might be a little too noisy for some people. Decorating inside very hip and funky. Food was really disappointing. Starters was not too bad. Had 400g ribs for mains, was bland and very chewy. Did not finish half of the ribs. Pre-cooked ribs at supermarket would have been more tender. Only one bathroom for the whole restaurant, is disappointing. Have to stand in line and wait. Honestly everything is good but my girlfriend and my self had dinner there last night and I put basil pesto on my pizza. I am unfortunately allergic to peanuts and their basil pesto contained peanuts. Had to rush to hospital after 3 slices. Woolworths doesn't put peanuts in their basil pesto so I just assumed this one will also be fine. So I guess it is a 2 way street but I think they should change the menu to state that the pesto contains peanuts specifically. Nut allergies are generally pretty serious and most cases will lead to hospitalisation.
