I think the food here is better than Ding Tai Fung, price is also a bit friendlier, soup dumplings are very soupy and delicious, maybe one minor compliant I can give is the service, I think the staff can be a bit more attentive. But overall a good experience here and will definitely revisit. Came back after their renovation in 2023, few signature dishes were removed from menu, food quality was still good and tasty, but somehow felt that it was not the same as it used to be. The service and waiting queue needs a lot of work. They just gave us a number, but there's no beeper or other system, and insufficient seats outside for waiting. The waiter taking our order repeatedly gets interrupted and even went to serve the table behind us while in middle of taking our order. This garbage service makes their food not even worth eating, even if their food is good. And it is NOT good. Ding Tai Fung xiao long baos are definitely better. The ones here were underseasoned - way under salted. And their other food was bland. The fish dumplings were too fishy as well. And by the way, the prices are EXPENSIVE, and we are not in any sort of nice environment. We were seated in the cold dark basement. A short wait to get in, and a 30 min wait for the dumplings as they were freshly made. Worth the wait, fresh and juicy. Drunk chicken leg is also yummy, light smell and taste of Chinese wine yet meat is also tender .
Local Taiwanese restaurant and as its name ”Jinan Fresh Steam Dumpling” suggests, steam bread and dumpling were very tasty. Xialongpao (soup dumpling w/minced pork) was one of the very typical example, but dessert dumpling w/sweet butter source was also fantastic. Food other than steamed dumpling such as fried rice, sauteed pork were also good. And if I may add, the price was quite reasonable. I really enjoyed the dinner here!

Just to preface, we were here in Feb 2023, and returned now in Dec 2023. It is now remodeled and modern looking. However, that may be the best I can say about this place. It is no longer the same restaurant and I will not return. Food- XLB was reasonably good but now at DTF prices. Other food and dishes ordered were just OK- many favorite dishes are not available (darkened on QR coded menu) Overall food 3 stars, with value considered - not worth the prices. (2stars) Service- lacking. Servers stood around and forget to bring out dishes or rice. Just generally don’t seem enthusiastic. Adding insult to injury, an automatic 10% service charge is applied. Atmosphere- clean and new. Modern feel. No complaints there, but I missed the traditional Chinese decorations from the past. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $2,000+ Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3

Very popular and expect long lines and waits. Put yourself on the waitlist. The steamed soup dumplings were good-nice flavor and thin wrapper. Didn’t like the siu mai as it had an odd filling with a crunchy texture from the water chestnut that was not traditional. The shrimp fried rice was basic and not very memorable. A bit too much pepper flavor. The beef scallion pancake roll was pretty good though. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $400–600 Recommended dishes Fried Scallion Pancake

I had a lunch about a year before. I like the way that tofu was prepared. I was surprised at those negative reviews recently, but I decided to upload photos and gave it a fair review. However, I am not sure the current service and food quality. As far as I remembered, the vegetable and tofu were nice and economically priced. All three of us spent about NT200~300 each for 5 dishes and stayed about 1 hr.

Shanghainese restaurant (also serve some Taiwanese dishes) Love the dumplings, specially with their own fried chilly oil. Dumplungs are juicy but not oily at all, with a hint of chilly oil brings out the flavour of the chilli🥰 The spicy and sour soup didn't taste as strong as I thought, very easy to drink. I love the Almond milk (very refreshing after the spicy food). Mochi is pretty general (hot and runny black sesame sauce within the mochi). Highly recommended to people who love dumplings. Food: 1. Dumplings - Original shao long tang bao with juicy pork 2. Hot and sour soup Dessert: 1. Almond milkshake with Jelly 2. Mochi - Sesame paste filled rice mochi in sweet bean flour shanghai styled

Worth revisiting. I like their veggie-related dumplings more than DTF’s, the traditional pork one is comparable, and all have nice amounts of soup while being bigger. Good stuffs!
