The food is so good that I always forget about taking a picture because I’m so excited to eat. Personnel is always so kind and nice and come on sauces are not only so dope but you can also grab as much as you want, unlike any other restaurant that charges a dollar for canned ranch. Please keep the good work on! Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Beef Brisket Sandwich

The ribs are top tier, if you never had a tenderloin sandwich run there you will not be disappointed. I was here visiting from down south I had no idea I was about to eat the best BBQ I ever had in my life. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Wonderful brisket. I had the brisket salad and it was fantastic. Everyone said their food was delicious. Staff was VERY friendly and helpful. This is an order at the counter restaurant. Beer was unavailable at the time of our visit because of some snafu. Parking seemed limited. Some of the best BBQ I’ve had since living in Iowa. This location is very quite and very clean. The service is acceptable but not extraordinary. The diner is clean but usually pretty baron. Id give the FOOD 5 stars over and over again. No matter what I try from the menu it has YET to let me down. It’s a grand slam every single time! Ordering and Pickup Process: Navigating the menu for Jimmy Jacks was a breeze. The descriptions were clear, making it easy to choose what I craved. I settled on the pulled pork sandwich, lured by the promise of a 12-hour smoke and hand-pulled perfection. The pickup was efficient. From placing my order to driving away with a waft of BBQ scent in my car, the process was streamlined and hassle-free. Pulled Pork Sandwich: Packaging: My order was packed neatly, ensuring minimal mess. The sandwich was wrapped to retain its warmth, and the sides were securely sealed to prevent any leakage. Taste and Texture: True to its description, the pork tasted as though it had been given the time and care it deserved. The 12-hour smoking process lent a depth of flavor that's hard to replicate, with a rich smokiness permeating every bite. The hand-pulling technique was evident in the tender, fibrous texture of the meat, which separated easily and melted in the mouth. The Original sauce enhanced the flavor profile. It was tangy with just the right amount of sweetness, complementing rather than overpowering the pork's natural flavors. The bun was soft yet sturdy, holding its integrity despite the juiciness of its contents. The claim that I would "love pigging out" on this sandwich wasn't an empty promise. Every bite was a testament to Jimmy Jack's commitment to flavor and authenticity. Additional Notes: I would suggest trying the sandwich with some of their homemade BBQ sauces. I prefer the Original. It can be fun to customize each bite according to your preferred flavor intensity. Price and Value: Given the evident quality and the generous portion size, I found the pricing to be justified. It's a small price to pay for a gourmet BBQ experience in the comfort of one's own home. Conclusion: For those seeking authentic, flavorsome BBQ on-the-go, Jimmy Jack's Rib Shack doesn’t disappoint. Their pulled pork sandwich is a culinary triumph, making them a top pick for carryout in Iowa City. I’ll certainly be returning, eager to explore more of their smoky delights. Great food. Fast and friendly service. We first visited Jimmy Jack's Rib Shack many years ago. The variety of delicious sauces is amazing. It's actually worth a trip just to try the sauces because you can also buy nice bottles of your favorites. These are great to take home and also for giving as gifts. Many years ago we would drive across town to purchase the sauces in to-go containers. We were really pleased when they began bottling the sauces, and now they are available at Hy-Vee and other stores. We still stop in at Jimmy Jacks's for food and to buy sauces there. JIMMY JACK'S IS GREAT! It was a last-minute decision for dinner. We were also the last customers for the night, and the staff still treated us awesomely. Everything we ordered was still available and amazing. I highly recommend the Original, Cowboy, Chicago and Carolina Vinegar for sauces. I added some of the Carolina to the coleslaw, and it was even better with some of the cornbread. The brisket was great, and they offer skinny (lean) and fatty... (fatty) depending on your tastes. The yardbird (chicken) was sculant, smoky, and juicy. The ribs were finger pull apart, tinder and fall off the bone delicious. My son had the pulled pork sandwich. (And he's kind of a picky eater. He devoured it. All the sides we had were perfect. Plus, the fries my son had actually made it home with some of my 3 meat plate. Usually fries loose desirability once they go into the fridge. NOT THESE! I ate them while watching TV back at home. I highly recommend it! We will be going back!
