I visited the store this morning for an Uber eats delivery and proceeded to self checkout and their scanner wouldn’t scan barcode from app (never had issue with any other jewel locations) but called over the store assistant who I found out name is Karen gave bad customer service by telling me if it doesn’t scan there was nothing she could do. This is important to scan because Uber has a tax exemption on the customers purchase. She then called over a male associate who was very helpful and pointed me to the kiosk that apparently is the only one that works for scanning barcodes. Karen may need more training on good customer service just a suggestion.
It is a very nice grocery store. They have fresh food and wide variety of selections. They also hire people with disabilities! Which is good 👍🏿. Also, this store has been completely remodeled! The one thing I don't like is the prices. Kind of expensive if you ask me. Compared to other grocery stores, like Walmart or Aldi.
Terrible deli service! Last night (9/4)waited 15 minutes with only 1 person ahead of me with 2 people working. Then tried to call to order 2 deli trays got transferred 4 times had to call another jewel to place order. Terrible service
I was shopping this morning at this jewel and this worker named Karen was a complete jerk to another employee. He was very respectful to me and polite and Nick helped me find something I was looking for. As I was checking out, I heard Karen yelling at this poor kid and acting very unprofessional. I was embarrassed for him. I believe there was a manager in that little room off to the side of the doorway too. I really hope not because a manager should have never allowed that to happen. He was just doing his job and she verbally attacked him. I hope managers see this review and take action on this because that was extremely poor choices in her. I will also call the store to speak to a manager about this. No employee should ever behave that way especially in front of customers.
I have to be honest. The Jewel on Larkin in Joliet has not been the same since the "Remodel". The changes have not been so positive. It seems the price's have gone up and the quality of help has gone down. Very rarely is there even anyone to help bag our groceries. Most of the for U items are out of stock as well as various other things. I have been trying Tony's more. The prices are about the same, but they offer more at Tony's. Fresh food bars, more produce and the 5 gallon water is always in stock. I use the pharmacy at Jewel so I will try again, but I am not as loyal as I once was! If I have to bag my own stuff I can just go to Food4less. I know that sounds lazy but my expectations of Jewel are higher!
Almost every time I shop here, pricing is wrong. Whether tags are expired or wrong(the difference between must buy 3 doesn't always show as must buy). Do unless you want to waste time arguing pricing go to other stores close by
Shop here all the time, it’s closest to me. Never been disappointed till this past month .I’ve noticed a few workers in the deli department do NOT change their gloves before serving someone. I watched a worker touched his head , move a cart and have his gloves ripped before asking me what I wanted. I respectfully said nothing thank you.. I was disgusted .
