The Mac and cheese is a MUST HAVE. Our server Daniel was very personable and made our dining experience enjoyable. Marissa the manager was on point making sure our dinner was to our standards and did so with a positive and friendly attitude. The music was on point and at a good volume so we can still have conversations without straining to hear. Big Up yuhselves

I have been wanting to check out the Howard Alum and Black Owned restaurant for some time and it met all my expectations.
During this foodie field trip I was definitely spoiled by the numerous amount of dishes that were being sent to my table.
The standout for me was the fish that was succulent, juicy and cooked to perfection. This will definitely be my go to dish from now on.

My overall experience was nice. My serveri think he was new his name was Bass he did really great, very attentive... the food was pretty good as usual it's not my 1st time at jerk at night ... but 1st time at this location the dinner menus online is not the same as the dinner menu actually in store ( yesterday's price is not today's price ) the oxtails were tender the cabbage was straight the Mac n cheese a tad salty but seasoned with a nice cheese pull. The jerk wings were decent, a tad dry. I wanted the di Yankee, which is the half of jerk chicken, but I had to opt for the wings since u couldn't get mac n cheese as a side the rice n peas withe oxtail were good ... I kind of had to peice me a meal together because the options were as they were ...the parking I got lucky, the spot is kute and gives real island vybes... music can be turned down 2 notches because I couldn't hear who I was talking to, but I enjoyed the music, very tight spaced in there had decent seats at the front I wish the bench seat was kinda leveled with the chair and chair was stained with I'm assuming food that I sat on ... I just dealt with it because I was hungry. But overall, everything was straight and will be back periodically.

The teenage boys were not the great servers, but the food was awesome and the price was great! I love that they don't cut chicken bones in the middle! No bone shards to avoid like other Jamaican restaurant! The atmosphere is nice but it's just a small place. It would remind you of Jamaican restaurant on the beach.

It’S Supposed to Be Oxtails and Cabbage
I visited Jerk at Nite on H Street DC, and overall, it was a great experience. The food was delicious, particularly I ordered the salmon, rice and peas, plantains and mac and cheese. While there were a few minor flaws, the overall quality of the food made up for it.
The highlight was the salmon. It was moist, tender, and bursting with flavor. The chefs at Jerk at Nite definitely know how to prepare a perfect salmon dish. The combination of the succulent salmon and the aromatic spices truly made it a standout.
The rice and peas served alongside the salmon were good, alone the rice and peas would have just been blah. It complemented the salmon beautifully and added an extra layer of texture and taste. The mac and cheese…mmm…mmm good, nothing more to say about that!
However, there was a slight disappointment with the plantains. While they were part of the dish, they were unfortunately a little hard and dry. This inconsistency in texture was a letdown, especially when compared to the excellence of the salmon. It would be great if the restaurant could ensure that the plantains are cooked to perfection, as they play an important role in completing the meal.
In terms of service, the experience was pleasant. You can walk up to the side and order your food, which adds a casual and convenient touch to the dining experience. I waited about 18 minutes for my order, which although not lightning-fast, was reasonable considering the preparation and cooking time required for freshly made dishes. The staff were friendly and accommodating, which added to the overall positive impression.
One downside worth mentioning is the challenge of finding parking nearby. This is a common issue on H street though.
Despite this minor inconvenience, I would definitely visit Jerk at Nite on H street again. The excellent salmon, makes it a place worth returning to.

FOOD IS AMAZING! THIS SPOT HAS THEEEEE BEST OXTAIL AND CURRY GOAT I EVER HAD!!! Crazy how I was just reading some reviews and saw someone say the oxtail is bad and I don’t know if they went to the same place I just left on H street but bwoyyyy this is good! Best Jamaican food in the city.
I was driving back home from a construction site in dc and went to jerk At nite on H street because I was starving and saw this nice place on the corner. Now from the vibe, the staff to the food I felt like I was back in Jamaica!
I ordered the one love combo for $30 with curry goat and oxtail with rice and jerk Mac. The portions were perfect and the food was piping hot. Not to mention I saw mostly Jamaicans cooking the food and surprisingly only waited 15 minutes for my food. This place has a great social following and is EASILY THE BEST JAMAICAN SPOT IN DC HANDS DOWN!
I’m not sure how this place has any bad reviews in the first place! I’m so confused, maybe some are haters or from their competitors but hopefully this picture of what I received tonight will clear the controversy! Food is amazing, great customer service from Serena and caple!

I recommend calling ahead of time to make reservations, also ask what’s on the menu bc due to the high traffic of customers some food items may not be available. However we walked in, gave our name and was seated immediately by Daniel. He was a great waiter, very attentive. We had an issue that was taken care of in a very professional manner by the manager “Sabean”. She’s was a pleasant person. The atmosphere was cute, relaxed, and a vibe. We had a variety of food options. The food was delicious. Get the lamb chops(yummy). The only downside is it’s cold inside. I’m assuming bc the carry out window is wide open and the tables are by the door entrance.

I've been to this place as a food truck, old location, new location and back to the old location. The food is great. I rasta pasta and salmon, oxtail tacos and jerk chicken with mac and cheese. No filler with the tacos that's all oxtail. Everything was seasoned perfectly. Advice if you're not dining in order in advance. It was busy. Uber eats was in heavy rotation.

This is the only review you need to read!
I recently visited District Jerk / Jerk at Nite in DC and had an incredible experience.
This Jamaican restaurant exceeded my expectations with its flavorful and authentic dishes. I indulged in the whole snapper, my wife had the jerk salmon, and my mother in-law had the jerk chicken, all of which were perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection.
The star of the show was the delicious mac and cheese with its creamy texture and rich taste. Additionally, the service was exceptional, with friendly and attentive staff ensuring a pleasant dining atmosphere.
I highly recommend Jerk at Nite for a delightful Jamaican culinary adventure. Take out is best as you can simply walk up and place your order.
