Food is always amazing!! Atmosphere is great. Service is a 5 but I gave it a 4 star because the servers haven’t had the nice personalities they used to have here 4-5 years ago. They do their job but are not as personable. Went there for Valentine’s Day and food was amazing. I highly recommend the Mac ‘n cheese for a side. My wife had the French Dip and I had the Cajun Ribeye! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $100+ Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Carrot Cake

First time at J. Alexander's and loved the dining experience. We had reservations and were seated as soon as we arrived. The space is large with an open kitchen. Noise level was good - able to have a conversation at the table. Our waiter was personable and informative. Was not intrusive. The food was delicious. Our dinner mate had the crab cakes and said they were the best she ever had. I enjoyed the seared ahi tuna with a cold orzo salad which was very tasty. The mahi mahi with a crab topping was another winner. The cod piccata was good but a little mushy. The couscous was a big hit. It was a pleasant evening and definitely will visit again. They weren't too busy yet when we arrived at five o'clock and were seated immediately. Both the prime rib and the baby back ribs that we got were excellent, albeit the prime rib's pepper was stronger than I would have liked. The food was served promptly as well. Although our server was friendly and personable, it appeared that he spent most of his time focusing on a customer at the other table who he knew personally. This occasionally resulted in us having to wait a long time for service. Overall, we had a great experience, and we are certain that it would have been even better if our waiter hadn't been distracted by individuals he knew. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
We ate at the bar and our bartender Jodi was extraordinary. She made the best old-fashioned that I’ve ever had. The food we ordered, the French Dip, was excellent as always. It’s a staple that we keep coming back here for. It’s tender with next to no fat. The french fries are thin and crispy and the Mac & Cheese, well… it’s coming home with us and is beyond delicious. Thank you Jodi for a wonderful experience. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $100+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes French Dip Sandwich

I had a delightful experience at this place! The atmosphere paired perfectly with the fantastic food. The Mac n Cheese was truly exceptional - easily one of the best I've ever tasted. The burger was fresh and delicious. For lunch, we were promptly seated, and the service was impeccable. I'm definitely planning to return for another wonderful meal. First time ever at J. Alexander's in PB Gardens. I gave 3 stars overall. Our server Phillip was exceptional. He was always close-by and we never had to wait for anything. He is very professional. We ordered a special steak, rubbed in cajun seasoning. But not enough seasoning. Ordered smashed potatoes (basically mashed red potatoes) that tasted old and STALE. So that was a no go. Ordered lemon broccoli with parmesan, that was quite good. Broccoli was al dente and had a great flavor. Ordered the grilled salmon, was cooked perfectly but lightly salted, so no flavor at all. It came with a great, garlickly sauce for dipping - That saved the salmon. Also, the salmon came with orzo and wild rice - That's all the menu stated. It came COLD, I was not expecting this - So servers should alert the customer on this. It also had corn (cannot eat) and huge cranberries. Had I known, I would have ordered the loaded baked potato (saw this come out several times and looked great, piled high). 2 drinks as well. So for $146, was a decent visit but can pay that or less for Seasons 52, Cool'a Fish Bar, Jetty's, Bimini Twist, etc and get top-notch food. Thank you.
