My experience at In-N-Out Burger in Monterey was disappointing. The burgers lacked quality, with stale buns that detracted from the overall taste. The fries were disappointing as well, being hard and lacking flavor. It's a letdown considering the enjoyable experiences we've had at In-N-Out in Texas, where the quality was far superior. In-N-Out Burger is ALWAYS great & always consistent everytime. The the restaurant inside and especially the restrooms ARE ALWAYS CLEAN as well as the the parking lot . That's a huge plus in my book . Also the food is always Hot and fresh no matter what time of day or even late night. they don't make your food until you order. Its great ! I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this restaurant! My partner and I visited In n out this evening on 12/29/2023 for drive-thru take out. We ordered two burgers, French fries, a chocolate shake, and a pink lemonade and everything tasted bad. The burgers were burnt, the bread on mine was rock hard. The fries were extremely salty, my shake tasted like milk and not chocolate, and the pink lemonade had no flavor as if it was watered down. I was late getting into town after driving from San Francisco. I need a quick bite so I picked the In-N-Out Burger because not much else was open at 9:30 in the evening in Monterey. I went to the drive through to get takeout. The line was OK. It was long but moved pretty quickly and there was a gentleman that took my order before I reached the ordering booth. That kept everything pretty smoothly running; yet it still took about 10 minutes to get through the drive-through. It was worth the wait. I got the basic cheesburger meal + fries and enjoyed it well enough that I came again the next day for lunch. I ordered pretty much the same thing but this time I decided to dine in. Parking was a little tight but inside there were plenty of places to sit. The crew was very friendly. Overall I do recommend this place.
