I’ve been here many times and haven’t found time to share my experience. Always a lovely scenery and atmosphere. The food is mouth watering delicious! I had the Salmon which was perfectly cooked. Nice and crispy on outside and freshly moist inside. A great blend of nicely seasoned veggies. I always get the fried green tomatoes which never disappoint! My date had ribs and the cornbread was everything! The drinks were also perfect! Cris was our server and helped us have a great time. He was very attentive and accommodating. I can’t wait to go back! Great, relaxing music great service waiter was patient while I asked about different foods on the menu. Atmosphere was just perfect. Can’t say enough about the waiter being so good he is just great/ will be going back here again I altered my meal a little bit. We decided to have lunch here on Valentine’s and our server Mike was absolutely exceptional. He gave excellent service and recommendations for drinks. We both tried the purple rain and it was very very good. The shrimp and grits were the best I ever had in any restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed everything, Mike was so funny and really made our Valentine’s lunch so special 10/10 experience. Went here Feb 13, 2024. The chicken salad sandwich will make you say "Well, Ida Claire!" faster than anything, as it is huge. Soft, toasted and buttered wide but thinnish pieces of bread, and delicious smoked chicken flavor. The grilled sprouts as a side for a small up charge are delicious. Also had the catfish - great, and the gumbo - a small bowl but for a low price, but it seemed low-salt and was a little different. The main things I did not like were: 1) the at-the-table, waiter-standing-over-you, tip input screen options are 22%, 20%, 18%, in that order - they should have a 15% and 10% option; 2) they calculate the tip based on the after-tax cost, 3) when I input a custom amount of 16.5% on the pre-tax amount, my waitress seemed visibly disappointed, and told me she has to share tips with others, so I left feeling sort of cheap. I guess I ought to just cough up a couple more dollars, but I also feel bad when sort of forced to tip on the after-tax amount. They should change their machines to 1) not calculate the tip on the after-tax amount, and 2) include a 15% option. Not sure if I will to back.
