Would have easily given it 4.5 stars and the reason I didn't really isn't the location or even the chains fault. But the prices on groceries these days makes you feel like you're shopping at a little corner store. The prices never have came down. I often filled 4/5 bags for a hundred now you're lucky if it's three bags. If you do get three ? Hop skip 2 my lou all the way to your car. Well that's what i do.
After shopping at a few different Hyvee stores in the metro area I had to come leave store a review for the Robbinsdale location. I worked at the former Rainbow store that was previously there so I know ins and out.
I absolutely love the food court area and bar. I recently went to a different Hyvee and was told that I needed to pay for my order at a register and that I could not even order for the restaurant menu.
Hyvee always has what I need even if I am not always happy about the price point.
I appreciate the location of this store.
The meat department staff are also always friendly and give me recipe suggestions.
They have flowers and $10 Roblox and iTunes cards in stock almost always.
My sister purchased her wedding flowers and cakes from the Hyvee in New Ulm. It’s just the ultimate convenience to have this location and I see now why New Ulm loves their Hyvee!
I had a rude lady at the register and I almost told her if you don’t like your job and obviously she didn’t then maybe she should consider staying home or finding a new one. I didn’t catch her name but no greeting she didn’t ask if I was a member or what type of bag I prefer for my groceries which is what I’m used to. I know next time to avoid her line. I was having a great day until I stepped in her line.
In and out with all I wanted. I don't mind bagging my own groceries, however with spending a little more than you would at Cub Foods, it's special to have a bagger. Check out goes much faster.
This review is for the Floral Department in Hyvee @ Robbinsdale, MN.
As I was leaving the store today, I stopped to smell the flowers in the display case like I usually would and continued on my way after a brief moment of joy. Next thing I know I hear “take this with you! Hey! Take this!” And the floral manager is handing me a beautiful bouquet. She told me she saw me smelling the flowers and it’s a “sad day bouquet” for a single bad bud in the bunch. Wow. To that lady: You don’t know me and I don’t know you, but today’s been a particularly hard day and that moment of being witnessed by you, you giving me this otherwise PERFECT bouquet, and the honest smile you gave me today was beyond divine timing. I didn’t know I needed this. Thank you. I think you should call them “smile day bouquets” because my grin has not faded.
It was better than it's been in the past. I've had pharmacists there who treated me like I was nothing but a drug-seeker, & I didn't appreciate it. I'm off that particular medication now, so maybe that helps. I use a discount card when I'm there, too, usually, (GoodRx), & I appreciate that they take it. The pharmacy support staff have always been friendly & supportive, & have gone out of their way to help me find ways to save even more on my prescriptions there. That's cool. I'll pick up groceries there that I can't find elsewhere, too, like sugar-free steak sauce & barbecue sauce. I like the Iowa origins of the store: good things have come from Iowa, like this store, Von Maur (another store, which doesn't charge interest!), & me. Thank you, thank you.
The food, produce and employees here are great. The meat department and bakery are always top notch. The problem with this store are the patrons. Every other time I come here there is a cop car outside with someone sitting in the back. To get into this store, you have to go through a subway style gate that stops people from wheeling an entire cart of free groceries out the entrance. They have removed the self checkouts due to rampant theft so there are always lines at the check out now. I have had my credit card skimmed at the gas station twice. I really want to shop here because I live on the north side but I always end up driving to Crystal instead.
I ran in with my 4 & 6 year old sons to grab carrots for my stir fry. I get to check out and one guy is ringing and the security guard is bagging groceries. The security guard has a pleasant conversation with the person in front of me. It’s my turn. I swipe my card and he hands me my bag. I asked one of my littles to grab the bag before we walk away. The security guard says “keep it moving folks”. He could have simply said have a good day. It took 3 seconds for my 6 year old to grab the bag. The guy in front of me got have a good day, my sons & I got “keep it moving folks”. Where is my humanity? My sons? We got policed instead of customer service.
First time visiting the HyVee and I didn't know they had a hibachi sports bar with TVs and alcohol what in the world Cub's grocery store going to do with that kind of. The customer service in the food was on point, I'll never go to Cubs again.
