The first time I came to HUGS I was a little kid. I remember it being a cool, tiny, fun looking little hut surrounded by snow and woods with enormous plates of pasta. I went recently as an adult and minus the plate sizes (everything seems much larger when you are a kid) the atmosphere was the same. The staff is super friendly and very hard working. They run a really great establishment. I had Linguini in vodka sauce with chicken and broccoli. I had a salad, a meatball and a cannot. The good overall was pretty good - although I thought the vodka sauce was a little watery and needed more flavor. The chicken was also kind of sparse and could've been a more generous portion. They were very busy and it's in a remote location so it's quite possible that they were trying to stretch ingredients. The meatball was out of this world. I would've liked a bit more bread for the gravy with the meatball because that gravy is really good. That was one of the best - if not THE BEST meatballs I have ever had. I was actually taken aback by how good it was. The cannoli was pretty good. The salad was really good also, crisp, fresh, delicious. All dishes seemed to be made with care. It's a small place and it was packed to the brim- I had to sit right by the door at the bar which was not an issue at all as I was able to get a more intimate look at their operations and staff interactions. They struck me as such kind, hardworking and professional people. Long story short- come here if you are in the area- but make a reservation. Get a shirt on the way out ;) Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes House Salad
I am choosing words from amazing to scrumptious and totally unexpected to wow ! A last minute trip idea brought us past this spot at just the right time to stop. I'm still so happy at this choice ! Great atmosphere, exceptional staff, and the best food I've had in a long time. I've chosen to picture a small amount of the 2 appetizers we choose.(there should be prosciutto behind the peaches but it disappeared too fast) We tried 3 drinks . The one in the photo of the tables bread is a gepetto martini . Dinner was a Mediterranean pasta with goat cheese instead of feta as well as no mushrooms and pasta puttanesca (salmon added). Yes they do shred parmesan at your table . For dessert, which we took home, was a tiramisu. Homemade whipped cream was used when making this delicious finish. Great job !!! Great food. Would like to return and try more of the menu. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50
Hugs is an intimate restaurant serving authentic old school Italian cuisine. The seating area is cozy and fills up quickly so reservations are a good idea, even in the off season. The menu is extensive, serving dinner only. They have a great wine selection and will help you pair a wine with your dinner. Had Hugs cater a party and the food was packaged well, fresh, hot and delicious. We have also eaten in many times and although it is not expensive it is not inexpensive either. The team is friendly and helpful. It can be tough to make reservations when they are only open from 4pm on and the phone tends to ring busy, but it is worth the effort.

Authentic old school Italian fare served in a charming/funky/homey setting it friendly, knowledgeable servers (and the owner). The shrimp in a cream based red sauce with capers and some spiciness in angel hair pasta was perfect. We had an outstanding Sicilian wine at our server's recommendation which was memorable. The prices are reasonable. We had great conversations with other diners all evening long. A great place if you are skiing at Sugarloaf.
