林美瑛獨自回到她小時候的家台東長濱的南溪部落是阿美族與布農族的聚落，漢人在這裡是少數。美瑛住在南溪部落最深處，用海岸山脈的第一注源泉灌溉著她心愛的蓮花。十幾年前這裡是水稻梯田，因為人口老凋零早已荒廢，梯田仍然蓄涵著源泉山水，等待美瑛回鄉，重新整修梯田，植栽一朵朵的胭紫粉白。我用玻璃茶壺泡著從271公里外採摘乾燥後的香水蓮，緩緩的在熱水中舒展然後綻放，蓮的甜香在口鼻中繚繞，霎時間讓我從台北的喧鬧脫離，回到那層層疊疊映著斑斕晨曦的梯田。
