The waitress, Mary, was an absolute southern belle! She was a great server with an awesome personality. I had the all you can eat, it’s literally all you can eat appetizers, main courses, and dessert for like 40 bucks, can’t beat it. Get food, awesome service, and decently clean a good atmosphere. Wish they were a little more mindful of the dietary restrictions. Sausage could have been cooked a little more. Overall I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who likes seafood and Cajun food as well. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $50–100 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Fries
Rap music was overpowering. Service was friendly and very accommodating. Our dietary restrictions were taken with kindness and consideration. Food was delicious. Highly recommend, with the exception of the music. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 2 Recommended dishes Sauce
Tried the Shrimp Po boy. Omg it was so good. Bread was soft, lettuce was fresh, the shrimp was crunchy and had a salty sauce that had a spice taste. So good. The clam chowder was also tasty. I just prefer it to be thick. Price was descent. And our server, Lena, was so friendly and had great suggestions and was super attentive. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Mary K May be the best server I have ever met. I must admit that i was super skeptical of seafood in Utah. But Hook and Reel hit it out of the park! The AYCE is a great value and the seafood is on point. If you are looking for a great place to grab food do not pass this hidden gem up! We got two seafood boils, 6pc oysters, and an oyster basket. The crab and lobster meat had great texture (not mushy, the lobster meat was sweet). We had sooooo much food between the two of us we ended up taking half home! Mary K was so sweet and attentive and did a great job making suggestions as this was our first time visiting. She is obviously very passionate about this place and loves the food:) Bathrooms were nice and clean. As someone from the Deep South, Cajun food is a necessity of life and should always be treasured and treated as such. After a month in the SLC area, we had begun losing hope for anything other than food trucks to know what flavor and seasonings are. This place… they nailed it. We got snow crab legs, shrimp, calamari, and scallops with the corn and potatoes they come with, OG Cajun seasoning and a level 2 heat. I need the gif of Pacha from Emperor’s New Groove to demonstrate my love for the flavor they packed into the sauce… it was amazing. My only minor complaints would be the shrimp chips and the meat itself. I absolutely hated the shrimp chips, but my husband said they were tolerable (ever since I got covid, I can’t do stuff that tastes overtly “fishy”). This is absolutely a personal preference only. The meats you could tell weren’t actually boiled with the same spices they were served with. That makes complete sense though when you consider that this is a restaurant that offers different seasonings and spice levels. It would be nearly impossible, not to mention incredibly time consuming, to try to boil each individual order in its own different boil every single time. However, neither of these things take away from the fact that we both IMMENSELY enjoyed our food and we’re extremely satisfied!! We will definitely be back!! Had a great visit to Hook & Reel! Decorations were a typical nautical theme. We were seated immediately when we arrived at 5 PM on a Friday. The Shrimp Po'Boys were delicious, but messy with the sauce. So make sure you ask for extra napkins! The fries and sweet potato waffle fries were fried just right - slightly crispy. Jewel was a fantastic server, keep our drinks going, and checking on us throughout the meal. Definitely worth the visit! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
