I'm a big fan of the fried chicken they have
This location is always dirty and cluttered, with rude, unpleasant staff. Will never return.
Very economically priced place for a small town I was definitely impressed and their sake and reduced prices were awesome I'm half way considering driving down here all the way from des moines to do my grocery shopping the crazy part is even with the hour drive each way I may not end up saving much but I definitely wouldn't spend any more than I do currently in town if that tells you anything the staff here are all very helpful and friendly which is a nice change from stores in des moines where your treated like you going into a place to spend your money is such a hardship on them lol I definitely loved visiting Hometown foods in panora iowa!!

I'm a stranger in this town. But when I forgot my money the cashier was very understanding and helpful. Prices are a little higher, but not bad.

Clean, friendly place to purchase groceries. Completely handicap accessible with plenty of parking. Has an eat-in deli for lunch or dinner.

I was at the Panora location a few weeks ago. I went in for lunch. The lady who served me was one of the rudest and unfriendly people I have ever had serve me. I am not a local and this was my first time in there so I was asking a few questions regarding what they had and how many sides came with my meal. I changed my mind before she had even selected my item, which really inconvenienced her and she let me know with her glare. We get to the end and she asks if I would like a drink. I said yes and she looks at me like I had two heads. She replies, "what do you want?" I said a medium is fine (not knowing they didn't serve fountain drinks). She then gave me some really rude remark which I can't recall exactly what she said. That's the point in which I have had enough. I told her I don't even want your meal now. I came in here to support a small town business on lunch and I get treated like the town outcast. I never cursed or yelled at her but the entire time she stayed silent smirking at me while I gave her my two cents, which lasted about 15 seconds. I went over to Subway where I was treated like a customer should be.
Food good and cooked the way requested. Service ok, poor waiter was stretched to much. Know it's hard to get help, only because people don't want to work. Jobs are all over, no one owes $. WORK. Thanks

Pretty convenient to have a full grocery store in a small town. Good selection of products. The employees are also friendly
When we were checking out, the young checkout boy went and bought my toddler daughter a ring out of the jewelry machine from up front - it made her day & she was so happy! What a nice young man!
