Purposely drove here to have dinner which recommended by local.
We order Sambal kangkung, india mee, otak, steam sting ray and steam lala.
The steam lala is very delicious due to the freshness of the lala, they did not add a lot of chili or ginger so the soup have more unami taste of the lala.
India mee was another favorite dish, they add curry leaves in there and it’s abit spicy.
The otak was a must order dish when you come to Muar , won’t go wrong.

A typical zichar place at the fringe of Muar Town. We were early for dinner, just 2 of us. We ordered their local specialties - assam red snapper, sambal sotong and prawns with petai, deep fried dragon tongue fish (龙舍鱼) and stir fried sweet potato leaves.
The assam and sambal dishes stood out, while the fish size were huge.
Not cheap by local standard. Total bill was MYR160.00.
It was a good meal with fresh ingredients. 😋

Came here with some expectation having seen how kampung the food was amidst an old shack. Despite seeing the open kitchen and sifu cooking skills, overall food just so so with the assam pedas pari the best. The rest were just mediocre with the worse being the fried sotong. Service is on the slower side so do come earlier ie 5+ or later 8+ to avoid waiting long. They have a nice calamansi drink here which is great for quenching your thirst. Food taste delicious, price on the higher side but given the taste is good, no comment. A lot of people come to dine here, so recommend you to go early to beat the crowd. Highly recommend their Mongolia chicken (favourite)

Had the black pepper crab! It was so good and solid. One of the best mud crab we had around South East Asia. Took an hour to finish this meal of 3 mains cos the crab was worth to take the time to slowly savour. Took about 40mins to have our food served but no complaints! We visited during their peak hour.

Went here with my gf. Food is absolutely great. Flavorful and not so salty. Doesn't feel very thirsty later after eating. The small size option for food is well portioned, allowing the 2 of us to try a few different dishes.
The only small complaint is the long wait time (about 40 minutes for us) during dinner rush, and it doesn't help that it was raining that evening. Perhaps this is also a testament to their good food as people (many are families) are willing to queue and wait for their turn.
Price is also cheaper than expected, but maybe I'm comparing this to prices in KL. Overall, I'd definitely visit again given the chance and will not hesitate to bring others here to try out their food.

Pleasant experience having dinner at this unique place. Located at the roadside, with a traditional wooden house and massive parking space. Staffs are friendly and price are affordable, we spent rm60 for two full belly. Loved the balidong and steamed clam which are so fat and juicy, while yao mak comes with astonish 'wok hei'.
