Great Food!!! From Nepal and India. First visit. Friend and I had lunch specials. About $14-15 each. Family-owned restaurant. Very friendly owner and server who both interacted with us to answer our questions and make suggestions. Open, spacious dining area is a little bland, but it’s a new restaurant and growing. Nobody there at noon on a Thursday, but it soon picked up I was glad to see. Menu was clear and easy to read. I appreciate the availability of meatless dishes. I chose a meatless dish, and my friend chose one with chicken. There is lots of competition for diners in that area, and parking can get tight at dinner time. Overall, the Himalayan Bistro is a restaurant I’ll visit again for a spicy, meatless meal. Try it!!!

This was my first time trying Nepali and Indian food. Boy this place did not disappoint! I all by myself ordered and ate the vegetable Pakora, Chicken Saag with butter Naan and the mixed grilled Tandoori with basmati rice. Everything was delicious I loved I got to pick the amount of spice I wanted! I loved the various spices and let me tell you the ginger they used as garnish should have been served as a small side! Everything was made fresh to order! The staff was amazing as I had no clue what to order! The amount of food I got will be enough for at least 3 meals! The flavor, smell, and tenderness do not come through in the photos! I basically ate protein, veggies and a side of protein! Will definitely be back!

The food here was great. We really enjoyed the lunch special and the veggie pakoras. The special gives you a lot of food, we had to take leftovers home. We’re from Orange County so we likely won’t be back anytime soon, but if we’re hungry in Oceanside again we’d love to come back.

If you find better Chicken Tandoori than you'll find here, let me know cause that was the best me and wife ever had. Naan was homemade, fresh, and quite remarkable.
