Best pizza as far as authenticity I've had on this island so far. Hands down great pizza and leans more toward Italian-made. The toppings reflect the way they make them in Italy. Definitely used to more toppings but you cannot beat it as far as quality ingredients goes. The interior is also really thoughtful but not over the top. The staff was excellent even with only 2 employees and they had customers while i was there. Both staff members were extremely polite and hospitable the speed of service was also pretty quick. The price isn't too bad and they have affordable options. If I was to say a few things I'd do differently is adding other specialty drinks other than soft drinks and beer. The menu board was really nice maybe having pictures of the items might help people better decide. Also the first thing I noticed was there was not pasta but they do specialize in pizza. I haven't tried everything yet but I will definitely be adding more things from the menu to my list of things to try next.

We had a chicken pesto add sausage and a "pizza" salad.... we created, we are naming it the "Art" because it was a work of ART!!! **Italian Special pizza toppings on mixed greens**
The pesto is nut free (the whole place is nut and seed free...)
The crust was perfectly cooked, not too hard and yet not soggy.
The FOOD was AMAZING!! and we met Rachel who is SUPER SWEET!!

Online ordering system needs help - not descriptive and glitchy. Finally got my order through after a few tries: double pepperoni on one half with arugula on the other half. As you can see from the photo, I did not get what I ordered. Also, thought the sauce I ordered was red, but apparently not (online menu didn't describe the sauces). Also, if the restaurant worker has to call to confirm that I do in fact want cheese on my pizza, please update your online ordering system so that it's clear for everyone (I chose the "regular cheese-contains dairy" option and unselected mozzarella because I did not want add-on mozzarella with the regular cheese). While the flavor of the pizza wasn't bad, it wasn't better than the chain pizza places around here; and my overall experience was dampened since I didn't get what I ordered anyway.
We have ordered Bruschetta pizza. It was one of the best Vegetarian pizza we ever had. The crust, the sauce, and the taste, everything was just perfect.
Definitely the best pizza in Hawaii.

Growing up in an Italian household, food was literally at the center of attention. When it came to pizza we’d argue all the time about how to make the best dough, what kind of herbs and spices to put into sauce, and what best combination of toppings to add. At the end of the day we’d still be arguing while enjoying our pizza.
What I love about Hilo Pizza Company is my Ohana agrees they make a great tasting pizza. I first heard of Hilo Pizza from an event I attended.
They were serving a variation of their signature pizzas. A few bites in, I had to ask where they ordered the pizza from. The host smiled and said, “From the best pizza place in town”. Curious, I had to go see for myself.
They’ve got a really cool spot that’s street-style NYC chic with a subtle island flare. Honestly, I stared at the menu for a few minutes trying to decide which pizza to try first.
I was in a tummy dilemma, torn between the Kalua, Reuben, Bruschetta, or creating my own BBQ pizza with fresh mozzarella, red onions, mushroom, sausage, chicken breast, jalapeno, basil, pecorino Romano, and how many more toppings should I add on this pizza…
Luckily I had an appointment to be at, so I had to make a fast n' furious decisions ordering the Italian Special.
OMG...The pizza was DELICIOUS!!! The pizza dough is authentic to its Italian origin’s and the quality of the toppings are premium. The crust was cooked to perfection and all the fresh layered flavors echoed within my palate.
The price was worth every slice of pizza heaven and when I came around full circle it all settled down with a refreshing ice-cold birra. Grazie Mille and Arrivederci very soon…

I ordered a large pizza with olives, mushrooms and purple onions, and there was hardly any toppings whatsoever. You have to pay extra for these toppings and they don’t put hardly any on. Total rip off. But the crust is really great. I don’t know if it was because it was a delivery order or I don’t know just seems really cheap on the toppings.

Went to Hilo Pizza Company to check it out and ended up getting 2 slices of pepperoni, brownie, and a Pizza Salad. We left very satisfied and will make this place a regular stop! Fresh, delicious, and very good quality. The staff was great too!

Pizza Salad
This place was only opened a month when we went. My daughter had the chicken Cesar salad and enjoyed it. I had her leftovers and it was good. I ordered the chicken pesto cakzones and while it was extremely tasty and I loved the pesto sauce, the calzone was mostly bread. Now, I love bread, so not too much of an issue for me, but when I'm used to Sbarro's calzone in terms of size, it was a little bit unexpected. However, it satisfied so that's what matters. But it's not for big appetites.

I’ve eaten at every pizza spot on big island, and gave up on pizza out here being from Brooklyn and spending much of my childhood in the New Haven, Ct area. I just thought pizza would never be good out here. This spot is incredible. Everyone working there is incredibly nice and friendly. Perfect crust, pizza is a little thin with great undercarriage. Cheese is excellent and the sauce is too. I just got a plain cheese pizza, because those are just the rules when trying a new spot. Spend your money here.
