Being my wife and myself first and last time eating here. We both got the 2 meat plate dinner. My wife enjoyed her coleslaw and sliced chicken breast. She didn't care for the macaroni and cheese. I got the pork ribs. Which were tender but lack smokiness and flavor. The sausage was lukewarm at best and also lacked seasoning. The ranch style beans juices were watery and fell short of tasting like ranch style beans. The potato salad is a mustard/mayonnaise base that was okay, but I like my potato salad more sweet. Customer service was good. Everyone's taste in BBQ is different. With that being said, try this BBQ place out if you want. Maybe Hickory Stick needs cooks who know how to season meats and smoke them better. I recommend Bone Daddy's, Soulman's and other BBQ restaurants over Hickory Stick.

If you like good Texas barbecue, this is the kind of place you wish was right around the corner. Not only is the food some of the best barbecue in the state, the joint is a perfect neighborhood handout. If you like beer, they have some of the coldest around. The owner will come chat with you and tell you about the history of the restaurant and his dad who started it.
Seriously, one of the coolest little joints I've been to in a very long time. Plus, I got to try it out with my daughter!

Sliced Brisket
The loaded baked potato is amazing and definitely worth the price! The nachos on the other hand, maybe something good to eat there. Definitely not a great item to take. Nachos tasted good but they were soggy. I enjoyed the rub that they use. It had good flavor and the barbecue sauce was nice and sweet. Overall it was great and I will be trying it again. The only reason why it didn't receive five stars is the soggy nachos.

Food was delicious as always. Jennifer friendly and helpful as always. However, something is bad about the taste of Sprite and Lemonade. PLEASE fix it.
Temperature in Hickory Room was chilly. There are windows but more heat needed there, if possible.
Prices a bit high. Lower by $2 anyway.

I think I ordered the wrong dish, cause the brisket was very dry and sloshing on the sauce didn't seem to help. Properly cooked food should be edible with out having to drown it with sauce. My wife had the ribs and said that they were excellent
