Sat at the Elixer bar for some cocktails and food. Our bartender Emily was absolutely wonderful - attentive, personable and extremely well made cocktails. Made our day in Portsmouth. Also, the ramen bowl was way better than I expected

I normally don’t leave reviews but the experience I had at Hearth Market was up and down. We came for lunch and had the Forest Sausage Pizza and a BYO Noodle Bowl, both of which were rather good. I was enjoying my time until I went to grab a cafe drink to leave. My order was taken by a blue haired boy who talked down to me when I asked simple clarifying questions. He also prepared my drink along with a few others and after placing them in what seemed to be the pick up side of the cafe, I asked if one of them was mine, he snapped at me and said “did I say one was yours?”. I’ll be back again but I would recommend getting a bottled iced tea or something if the blue haired male barista is there.

The atmosphere is great but the food not so much. I’ve been here like ten times but wont go back, They keep on changing the inside around so it’s confusing for the customer. Plus $19.00 with tip for a sandwich that has two pieces of meat and one piece of lettuce on it and one Tomato is a bit expensive, So many staff members just standing around chit chatting. The ladies that made my sandwich where just talking and doing no work for like ten minutes I watched them wipe a counter with a rag when a manager walked by and they laughed after he walked by, then went back to chit chatting and looking at their phones around the corner.
I watched the girl at the crêpe station for 20 minutes stare at her phone. I asked her what is this area was and she’s said it was the crêpe station, but there’s no signs to indicate what’s even there. The cocktails and food are NYC food hall prices, The place is beautiful but kinda a hot mess 🤣🤦🏻.
I over heard one of the men that I know is management yell at an employee too. Classy! I was disappointed ☹️ I’ve worked a food service job before and have never seen such a disorganized mess before in my life 🤦🏻 the thing that gets me is a lot of employees were working hard, but then other ones were just literally standing around doing nothing for like 15 minutes or more.

Pleasant, comfortable eatery with multiple stations (pizza, bakery, coffee, sandwiches, entrees, etc) in downtown Portsmouth. Plenty of tables and comfortable chairs and sofas.

Wonderful service! Waiter Andrew was very friendly and was very attentive. Food was excellent! Mom ordered the lobster chowder and I had the lobster mac & cheese. I had a cappuccino and mom had an ice tea, both were great! Prices were very reasonable for the portions we received.

I have been going to Hearth since they opened. I love the atmosphere and the concept. I have been in on a regular basis with no issues except the last two times which haven’t been enjoyable. Two weeks ago we went for brunch. There were only 6 active tables but we felt rushed. They tried to take our have filled bloody Mary’s even after stating several times we were not finished. We could understand if people were waiting for a table but there was not a wait. The food was okay but the crepes weren’t hot. The most recent night we visited was last Thursday. The bar was busy but not too many people ordering food. We were a party of 7 celebrating a birthday. The bartenders were wonderful. We tried to order the grilled cheese and tomato soup. We waited for a very long time. The young man had a language barrier and couldn’t understand what we were asking for. Our order was not correct as it was rung at the register. Once we got our food the sandwiches weren’t grilled they were only warm and our soup was cold. The gentleman behind the line put the soup in the microwave but did nothing to fix the sandwiches. I don’t think he understood what we were trying to say. We asked for a manager who never came. Maybe they were having an off night? I still love the atmosphere but the last two visits were not up to par especially when I brought new folks who had never been. Several of my friends won’t be back. I also reached out via messenger through their Facebook page. My comment was read but no one responded. I have worked in the hospitality industry for over forty years. A simple apology would have been nice or at least some type of response. I was very disappointed but I will be back if only for a coffee and a pastry.
