I've been wanting to try this place. They have good advertising on the local radio and we finally went yesterday.
The atmosphere was ok, albeit they have reggae music. I was surprise they have Mexican menu too. Anyway, I had the Kilauea chicken, it was delicious. My partner chose the sampler plate. Good flavor on the beef but a little tough. Of course the Kalua pork was kind of bland (like in the Islands😉)The two employees were very attentive.
The highlight was the orange cream smoothie....wish I'd order one too. All in all, it was a good experience. You guys should try it and see for yourself.
Mahalo nui loa for the experience...

First off I want to say this review is with peace and love! This place has some real potential to be good. First off, the protein choices were obviously cooked in large batches the morning of and sit in warmers all day. Chicken should really be grilled when ordered at places like this, especially for the price. (For an example please look up Mo Bettas in Utah.)Mac salad was extremely underwhelming and sad. Would be super easy to fix with the right seasonings a little more mayo and apple cider vinegar. Rice was decent. Guava cake was 10 out of 10! I so badly want this place to be amazing. We need a good Hawaiian restaurant here in coos county.

Some of these reviews are crazy to me. My family and myself have never had anything but a wonderful experience when eating from Hawaiian Grindz. The food is never too salty and they’re generous with their portions. Plus Makenzie behind the counter is always friendly and helpful. This is one of our favorite local places to eat and we’ll definitely be returning soon.

We have ate here a few times, and it’s always delicious. Our 3 year old loves the spam musubi. All the items on the menu are reasonably priced for the generous portion sizes. Owners are very friendly as well. It’s a cozy and clean environment to enjoy a good meal in.

Recently tried this place for the first time and was not disappointed! We ordered through Door Dash and our plates were packed with delicious food! They are not shy with the portions! My only complaint - and this is simply my preference, is the meat was slightly over salted. This could be due to using soy sauce in the recipe - but the flavor is great otherwise. I absolutely LOVE their macaroni salad! Would be cool to have a few more options on their menu but they definitely have enough of a selection to curb that Hawaiian food craving!

Last week I tried the breakfast for the first time as I’ve been excited since I heard the news! I went with the Pineapple Pancakes which were fantastic. Chunks of pineapple can be found in the soft, doughy pancakes which couples nicely with the syrup and macadamia nuts. The four sausage links were cooked perfectly and the scrambled eggs were delicious! I thought the eggs would be lighter and more airy because of the portion size, but I was happily surprised they were full textured eggs. For the price, flavor, and the fact that we can finally get a real breakfast delivered to us I have to give this place a 10/10!!

The macaroni salad and kahlua pork dishes were delicious. The slices teriyaki beef was just okay. The huli huli chicken was tender and had a mild teriyaki flavor. Rice is rice. The lemonade was homemade and good.

Got a plate to go (picture taken at home) with the Huli Huli chicken, which was seasoned and grilled to perfection. Some seriously good chicken. The mac salad was pretty good, though could have used a little salt. The rice was a little underdone.
The cake was HUGE! Way bigger than I expected even though I knew to expect a big slice! I got the mango cake, they also have pineapple and guava. It's good cake.

I was pretty excited about this place opening up after seeing a lot of hype on Facebook. We ordered a sampler plate, pineapple, and a musubi. The sample platter meat was just okay and was nothing special, the rice almost crunchy (old or undercooked), and the macaroni salad was bland. The spam musubi was cold and pulled from the fridge, as easy as it is to make a musubi I was thinking it would be fresh or at least made this morning. We couldn’t eat it as the rice was hard and dry. The pineapple was good! I’ve only ever had it warm/hot so it was a nice cool treat on a sunny day. Though the hardened gel at the bottom of the cup suggests it might be better served warmed up.
I am excited to try the snow cones when they are up and running and also want to try the cake. I will update my review once I try more and may even try another sampler plate - hoping this was an off day for them.
