This was our first time eating here. We stopped in around lunch and were greeted with a relaxed atmosphere and big smiles from the staff. I had the Beck's Mac Bowl and my son had the Andrew. We took home the bourbon smoked cheesecake to share. Everything was delicious!! Definitely going to eat here again.

Have you been here for live music on a Thursday? So fun! It’s a pretty restaurant with fantastic food, (def try the brisket) but my favorite thing about HD is the owners! Aaron & Alejandra are so friendly and welcoming every visit, they know me by name, and they treat me like family.

Not a full 5 stars, but know that the food punches well above it's class. Our first visit was midweek and only the BBQ menu was available. Even so it was pretty good.
This time we went on a Saturday and the steak menu was available as well. My partner chose the ribs and I decided to gamble on the dry aged ribeye. I really hit the jackpot. Done to a perfect medium rare with a fantastic flavor.
My partner loved her ribs as well, but I think the steak carried the day.
Harold Dean is a little out of the way, and the furnishings don't do the food justice, but I think it's tremendous value for money, especially around here.

My husband and I just tried this restaurant for the first time today & the food is incredibly delicious! We cleaned all the plates! I’m picky about my wings and ranch, but theirs were delicious. The turkey we had was so tender it was falling off on our forks. I even enjoyed their coleslaw & usually I hate coleslaw lol. We met the owner briefly upon waiting to be seated & he seemed really friendly too. They had live music going that was just a bit too loud, but we sat outside and it was fine. Our waitress was very friendly and provided great service as well! My one and only small complaint regarding the food was the asparagus was too salty, but that’s an easy fix! We will def be back!

We tried this restaurant for the first time and was blown away at the quality of food, service, friendliness of staff, and service. We had a group of 20 in our car club and enjoyed the alligator bites, sirloin steak, salad with made in house dressing, and garlic green beans. The sweet tea and a glass of Merlot topped off our dinner. Draft and bottle beer, and full bar also available and live music. They also have an outdoor patio. We live in Krum and it was definitely worth the drive to Flower Mound. Thanks to Aaron and additional staff for an enjoyable outing! Great food, great friends, great entertainment, and great service. Check this out. Edgar and Judy Fowler Motorheads of North Texas car club.

Still delicious.
I picked up the smoky Father's Day special:
Wings crispy and flavorful
Ribs-fall off the bone tender
Brisket-juicy perfection
Sauce-spicy but delicious
Host/hostesses: friendly and entertaining.

Delicious. We purchased the sliced brisket and German potato salad. The brisket was tender and smoked just right. The potato salad was so tasty.
That being said, what puts them over the top is their people. I was asked several times if I needed anything, by different people. I ordered inside and then went on the patio to sit with my pup. The lady brought my food for me and was very nice about my unruly boy, normally he is well behaved, jumping up on her.
They have a nice, dog-friendly patio that is shaded and landscape, plus a pet cleanup station adjacent.

Friends of a friend knew this fine gentleman from a local brewery, and he with the help of his wonderful staff they opened what I can only describe as a perfect slice of home town BBQ.
The food, the prices, the service just cannot be beat here. The owner genuinely cares about customer satisfaction and frequently stops by to check on the tables.
I have been really hoping that a traditional smoke house would come to Flowermound / highland village and boy am I happy this one came along.
The location is off the main drive far enough where you aren't hearing the cars rush by, but still very convenient to get too, TONS of easy and available parking all around.
The interior is classy and feels like a good home town BBQ with a full bar, the patio is amazing with a wrap around fence and plenty of easy blowing overhead fans, to top it off there are too beautiful trees that cover and shade the whole patio.
I can't rave enough about this place honestly, just check out these pictures!

Harold Dean Smokehouse is an excellent barbecue restaurant during the day that transforms into a steakhouse featuring in-house aged beef at night. What a great addition to Flower Mound.
My wife and I stopped in recently for lunch as we're always looking for great barbecue close to home. And everything we ate was well-made and quite delicious. Of particular note were the smoke brisket, that featured a dark bark and beautiful smoke ring, and the sausage which was smoky and perfectly seasoned.
Additionally, I rarely see German potato salad and always order it since my mom made it this way. It was very good and a welcome food memory from my youth.
We spoke with Aaron, who owns and operates the restaurant with his wife, and got to see the dinner menu as it was undergoing some edits. They have some beautiful aged beef in a display case and a variety of steaks, quail, and a few other things are the features of the dinner menu.
The decor is clean, simple and charming. The large pecan-slab bar (that Aaron made) is both beautiful and well-stocked with all the normal favorites and cocktails are a feature.
We'll certainly be back and look forward to trying those aged steaks with some friends soon.
Amazing food, great flavor, brisket was cooked to perfection. The homemade dressings for our salads were the best tasting we have ever had. The German potato salad was awesome and had us wanting more of it. The mac and cheese was the best homemade mac and cheese I have ever had. All the food was fabulous. The owner greeted us at the door and was very nice.
Finally a BBQ place in town that isn’t Dickies. Upon walking in I think I was most surprised by how they set it up. So use to having counter service but I was greeted by a hostess/server who got me squared away.
They had a ton of options in all categories (apps, entrees, sides, meat by the LB). What I liked most is most of their meats you could do a 1/3 lb vs just doing a 1/2 or full. This lets you try more meat and not get as full.
Service was amazing and quick and the food was good. I would put their BBQ in more of the traditional bucket vs the craft bucket but it delivered.
We ordered wings, pulled pork, and brisket and I would say the best meat were the wings.
If you are looking to get your BBQ fix and don’t want to leave town, this is the spot. Not to mention they have a full service bar and a nice patio.
