This was my first time ever shopping here. I'm originally from Dallas so me moving to a city that has almost the same things as Dallas was a plus. H.E.B has a whole other vibe. See as soon as I stepped in there I was in love with the store. It has everything you need. I'm a diabetic and when I tell you all the things I was looking for were there. I will return soon 😁.
I grew up going to HEB (Del Rio Tx) and as much as I love HEB I'm very disappointed that they stopped selling the tenderized, seasoned fajita from before and now selling a different seasoned fajitas that I dont like, I had to buy fajita somewhere else, they did this also in the past with the seasoned chicken in Del Rio Tx. So now I have to get my seasoned chicken and tenerized seasoned fajita else where. (Celebrating my birthday by the way) and (HEB had the best seasoned chicken and fajita I ever had) So PLEASE PLEASE dont do this with the seasoned short ribs!!!!
Please bring back the Tenderized Seasoned Fajita and seasoned Chicken!!!!! Thank You
In store bakery's are always hit and miss depending on the season. We were looking for Fourth of July treats and bought the cupcakes. They were great with very sweet icing. We made the right choice; maybe a cake next time?
Ordered a Mardi Gras strawberry crepe cheese filled King’s cake from them, placed my order to pick it up the following Saturday, when I got there they did not have it, gave them the receipt, excuses and something about them not having the strawberries. I wanted it fresh, but because my party was that night I bought one off the display table. Disappointed, I gave it a two star because the one off the table was good.

I absolutely love it and recommend it to anyone who loves sweets like me. I want to add that HEB bakery also does custom cakes. Go ahead and give them a try for that special occasion.
Garth Road HEB did a horrible job on the full size sheet cake I ordered. The icing was not even on top and the cake was showing through. Had deep steak marks on the top. The writing on top has skipped placed all through it. This cake was for a retirement part and I was embarrassed to even show up with it. Never order another cake from there again.
Ordered a 6" cake that looked very small when I picked it up but it actually served 7 people with generous slices. The coconut cake with whipped cream was covered in toasted coconut and was delicious.
Today I got the worse experience ever. I went to store to buy a cake and some balloons for my 3 year old and I stop to the balloons counter and no one to be found. I went and pay my cake and a cheesecake then passing by the balloon counter I notice a employee there doing balloons I asked if I can buy some Mickey Mouse balloons and she send me to the register so I did. I wanted to add a number so I went ti the register again. I was patient enough ti wait over an hr fir this people to figure out how I flare a balloon that wasn’t even inflatable by helium and it was floating upside down. I went ahead and ask for a weigh and she ask me to go back into the line and pay a dollar at this point it was not the dollar it was the wait and my two toddlers running around I’m with a cake a cheesecake and being sent back and forward so they called Service Manager Vanesa with no peoples skills of customer service to resolve the issue. Basically she told me that department was closed and that I had to come back tomorrow to resolve the issue. At this point I told her she can keep my 17-18 dollar balloon upside down and the only think I was hopping is for them to give me a dollar balloon weight so I can place the balloon in place at the restaurant for my baby. She said no that I had to go back online to pay the weigh or comeback tomorrow. I offer to have her take the money to pay but I didn’t want to go back a fourth time to the register. I ask her to ring me up as she was the manager and she said no and just literary walked away from me. So I was so frustrated I left the paid balloons but went back for them because my son was crying. I walked outside and the Main balloon flew away because it wasn’t tide correctly. Not a good day.
So I hope Vanessa gets some training because it is upsetting to have people like that in customer service where lock of service is so obvious.
I am not a complainer but it all started with a cake lady that didn’t even know how to decorate that’s how she responded to me when I asked her to fix a cake she said she was going to decorate.
I will accept the cake lock of knowledge, even the balloon girl trying but the manager the leader of the team that is there to support associates and service clients needs to have some serious trading and some people skills.
My son enjoyed his birthday even though his balloons were all messed up. 😢
