Food was amazing, I'm so glad this opened up in lees summit, fried pickles were amazing, well seasoned, fried chicken was Hot and Fresh. Me and my guest both tried the white and dark meat, juicy, hot meat. Shelby was an amazing hostess who was on top of everything, super kind and friendly who would always stop by and refill your drink. Definitely going to come back and try their pies. I have never had an issue with Gus’s chicken is always excellent. Today I wanted to try out the sweet potato pie. When I got home look like someone broke off a piece of pie. YUM. The portions were good and the taste of the food was even better. I've been hearing about Gus's for years and finally decided to give it a try and was not disappointed. I love spicy chicken & it was just the right amount of spice and cooked perfectly. I also had fries & the mac and cheese as a side, both very tasty. I don't remember our servers name but he did a good job and continued to check on us throughout our meal. I will definitely be back again! Update 12.2023 ..adding more pics . Finally came back got a 3 piece white plate with fries and mac n cheese and 2 tenders on side.. would easily feed 3 people. tenders where great size ..chicken fresh and juicy . sides are good. fast service ordered online again. /// I am glad I went to the lees summit location. ordered a half chicken with extra leg and fries online. arrived to pick up food was ready..in and out. person at counter was friendly. food was hot and fresh and order was correct! we tore that chicken UP. We’ve been sleeping on this place! It is so delicious. You can tell the chicken is fresh and they got the CRISP down just right! Everything was so good and we got chicken catfish coleslaw fries greens okra and hush puppies.. it’s like grandmas cooking and I definitely recommend!

We had an amazing experience! The food was hot and fresh. The service was fantastic! Xavier was amazing in answering all our questions. Our drinks were never below half. The fried pickles were probably the best pickles I have ever had. They were crispy and delicious. The atmosphere was homey and like a southern diner. 10/10 recommend! The customer service was great. The food was just ok. It was very fresh and made to order but it lacked flavor. No spice or seasoned taste on the chicken, cole slaw and fries were bland! ! Hot sauce didn’t even help. The waitress was great and attentive which made up for the bland food. I don’t think I’ll be back. I came for lunch. The place was fairly busy. The lady at the front was really nice and helpful. I ordered the 8 piece chicken. It was barely room temperature. The mac n cheese had zero flavor. It was not good at all. The chicken tasted good. It was juicy, crispy, and flavorful. I bet it would be even better if it were hot. Warm even. But cold chicken is not my jam. The prices are very high for cold chicken. I spent $37 on the two items. That's a lot for just 8 pieces and a side of Mac. Came in for the first time to give it a try. Very affordable! The chicken is spicy, but not too spicy. The greens were good, and baked beans were similar to canned.
