I love a good theme throughout a shop...and this place delivers. The cowboy decor starts from the building sign and continues through the shop and even into the bathroom (I give extra points for that!). There are many breakfast options, and I really liked that they had four different wraps for lunch. It's nice to have lighter options, and my turkey bacon ranch wrap was very good along with my Arnold Palmer. My only complaint is that the owner or manager was sitting at the bar working on a laptop and talking loud on a phone call and then talking about other employees, who weren't there, with the employers who were working... it wasn't anything real rude but was unprofessional in my opinion.

Wow tried this place for the first time and the coffee was delicious and the baristas were great. Love the theme and menu is kind the perfect size - not too overwhelming or underwhelming! Great seating choices inside and out, and overall it’s an appealing space. Looking forward to going back - it’s a great space for working or coworking.
One thing I noticed - there was a lot of dead silence and music volume too low most of the time for how empty it was, which made conversation a little more uncomfortable since it was extra easy to hear what anyone was saying at any time. There’s always a right balance, in my humble opinion.
*an aside: I was with a friend in a wheelchair who couldn’t reach the tall counter (which was also technically blocked by chairs for her) and they didn’t consider serving her at the lower bar or just putting the drink at her table. Maybe that’s just because I was with her, and hopefully they would think about it otherwise!

I know. I know. It’s cliche, but Ground Shaker Coffee Bar is such a breath of fresh air; a definite welcome addition to the lacking coffee scene in Surprise. Don’t get me wrong there are a couple great shops nearby, but my experience here today was nothing but awesome. Walking in I knew instantly they’ve already made a great impression on many. There were many groups of people inside enjoying their coffee and food items. What was once Sunsational Coffee, Ground Shaker has taken over. The entire location has been remodeled inside and it is amazing. One of the great things they’ve kept is the drive through option. Talking with the barista she said they bought out the previous shop, left a lot of the menu, but again the vibe and decor is a thousand times better. It gives off more of a downtown coffee shop, but still with a small town feel. In my opinion it is what has been needed here for so long. There is bar seating, casual comfy chairs, as well as larger tables for groups. Large windows bring in great lighting and had me feeling right at home. Pricing is good for what you get and drinks go up to XL. They offer a lot of breakfast items as well as lunch wraps. Service was wonderful and they were keeping up well with the large rush this Saturday morning. I asked a few questions before finalizing my order. I was pleased to hear they offer so many more assorted drinks than what is on the visual menu. I chose an iced white chocolate peppermint mocha this morning, an iced vanilla latte, a bagel with cream cheese and a breakfast sandwich on an English muffin with egg, bacon and sausage. Everything came out quickly and was delicious. I really enjoyed that the added flavor didn’t overpower the actual coffee. The coffee was great and just the caffeine bump I needed for a long day of sports with the kids. All in all I can’t wait to come back. I can see myself spending some downtime here.

Strong coffee, cowboy aesthetic, friendly atmosphere, very clean. You can get some work done here while you sip on your coffee & eat some breakfast, or if not a fan of country music, take your drink to go. Highly recommend as opposed to starbucks or any other big franchise.

The young ladies at this coffee shop give great customer service. They have TONS of sugar free flavor options. Definitely give the "ex-girlfriend" latte a try its the best drink they have. But everything I get there is great.

Got about 2 sips of my large iced coffee, the rest of the cup was packed with ice. I will admit it had a good taste, but I paid almost $7 for all ice. If I want another overpriced cup full of ice luckily there’s a D Bros right around the corner.

We took note of this establishment as we were driving by a couple days ago. We had tried it before. But at that time, it was a different coffee shop, under a different name, and we were not very impressed. Don’t get me wrong, it was okay, but it lacked ambiance. We’ve been to a fair amount of coffee shops in the valley, and we like to give each one “a shot” to wow us, at least a little. To be totally honest, as a place of business, you have one chance to give me a good first impression. Unfortunately, they didn’t, and we never went back. But then a couple days ago we noticed it had a different name, so we checked out the reviews online, and decided to give it a try. I’m so glad we did! Our experience was nothing less than awesome. It was clean, the coffee was delicious, the pumpkin cheesecake muffin was tasty, the ambiance was nice, and the service was great. I mean, what more could we ask for, right? We got the opportunity to talk with the manager, Amanda, who was very personable and a delight for us to get to know.
Do yourself a favor and give them a try. After the experience we had to today, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed at all. Another plus, they have a drive-thru!
Thanks Amanda! Thanks GroundShaker Coffee!
