This is my favorite sushi place. I’ve gotten take out here probably over 50 times and have ate in the restaurant a handful of times. My takeout is always ready and the food is always always always amazing. I love the food here. Service is great and fast. We have eaten here a lot, and though it’s usually not *great*… we like it because the happy hour is cheap, and the place is usually pretty quiet. The last time we went, it was like we were eating at a different restaurant than the times before. Food was awful, and yes, my girlfriend got food poisoning. I had cooked rolls, which I’m assuming is why I didn’t get sick. We will not be back and I’m assuming if you read some of these other 1 star reviews, you wouldn’t go here either! 10/10 do not recommend. Went for lunch and the food was great. However not family friendly as a large group was there getting intoxicated and singing very loud. The waitress also allowed them to turn up the radio so loud it was hard to hear the people at our table. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 2

My family and I definitely had an odd experience here. While they didn't have any tables open for 6 of us, they did offer us the party room, but soon after accepting it we realized it was a bit of a crowded area and seemed more like a storage closet than anything. However, the staff wad very kind and accommodating when we asked if we could move somewhere else. I'm sure most might have been upset upon finding out the wait would be longer than it already had been due to a bad batch of rice, but we made the best of it while chatting amongst ourselves. We were given free fried dumplings and crab Rangoons to make up for the wait time. These were fresh and delicious. The sushi came out great, there was definitely some confusion as some members of my family forgot what they ordered but we made it through! What I presume to be either the owner or the manager came up to our table after we finished eating and gave us a $25 gift card for the wait, and apologized to us about it. She was super sweet! When our family goes out, usually anything that can go wrong will go wrong. So it was nice that the staff was so patient and accommodating when these things happened. Thanks Grey Whale for a unique dining experience!!
