When a Greek restaurant chain opens in a small town at a location a stone's throw away from a preexisting Greek restaurant, the only real question is, "is it better?" - and here, the answer is simply "no".
The place looks great - they did a good job renovating what the previous establishment left (we miss you, L'Oasis!). The location is of course excellent, in-between the harbour and the town centre. As we sat down we immediately noticed two things: the presumably Greek music playing (varying from traditional to what you get annoyed by at your gym) and the cold. Oh gosh, it was cold. (Indoors!) Luckily there were lots of blankets but noses and fingers were icy by the end of our visit.
We were a mixed company all ordering different dishes, including a bunch of small dishes to share, and I will say that most of the food was alright. Nothing really stood out, at least not on the positive side. The meats, though, were overcooked and dry - in fact, most everything gets kind of dry here, something I remember from the previous version of this chain many years ago, too. Those of us who avoided meat were happier, though, but there is of course not really anything for vegans here.
The best things on the table were the skordopsomo and the kopanisti. In fact, two people sharing that plus a choriatiki and maybe a halloumi would make for a decent meal - but again, there's not really anything exciting about it.
To add to the overall disappointment, we finished off by one of us standing from their chair to hit their head on one of the decorative shelves with vases on that are spread across the walls. So, a tip: stay clear of the seats by the walls if you're taller than 170 cm, lest you want a head injury.
