We attended the prefix New Year’s Eve dinner from 7:15 to 9:15. This is our third time eating at the Grand Vin, and we travel from Monmouth county. As soon as we walked in the door, the host did not greet us, and I had to walk over to the counter to announce what my reservation was. We were disappointed last night at the quantity of food and overall experience that was given for the price we paid. The tickets were $110 each excluding a 20% gratuity that was served in the final receipt ,which I thought was fair, considering we have ate at this restaurant twice and the food is very good. We had a two hour time slot at the table which is understandable as they had a third booking. The food was being rushed out extremely quick, which was concerning but again it was a prefix dinner so understandable. The real issue that we had was the quantity of food for the price. A House glass of complimentary, champagne, Three Scallops and four raviolis would be fine if the total cost of the expeirence was not what it was as a normal size portion would cost less in on any other night. The filet what my partner ordered was completely rare when he asked for medium, and the waitress never returned while we were eating to check on us. The rushing of the food seem gimmicky as we were completely done with dinner at 8:30 and it appears as if the food was being rushed so patrons would order more drinks. Overall, it was disappointing expierence. Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4

Food, service, atmosphere is PERFECT. Great place for a date or with friends. Live music sometimes too. They are constantly filling up your water, the waiters and waitresses are amazing, and you never have to wait for another drink!! The four cheese gnocchi was phenomenal and the parpadelle with scallops was good. The scallops and the sauce was great. We had the artichokes and also oysters for an app. The artichoke was good but the oysters were probably the worst oysters I have ever had. But the gnocchi made up for it. My recent visit to the restaurant left me disheartened. As the only person of color, I couldn't ignore the unequal treatment I received compared to white customers. The staff's attentiveness seemed biased, making me feel overlooked. Even with my white boyfriend present, the disparity was evident. I urge the restaurant to address these issues and prioritize inclusivity for a more welcoming atmosphere. The music alone was simply catered specifically to whites. While I typically write positive reviews, I find it necessary to share my recent experience at the restaurant. It's crucial to address an unfortunate disparity in treatment based on race. I usually don't let race dictate my everyday experiences, but this restaurant's discriminatory behavior compelled me to speak up. I believe not everyone might have the courage to do so, making it important to highlight and address these concerns for a more inclusive environment. The atmosphere is lovely. We sat outside and the seating with string lights and dividers from the street made for a nice atmosphere. We had a table of 7 (for a birthday dinner) and ordered a few different apps for split. Stuffed shrimp, buratta, calamari and tacos all delicious. I had the chicken dish which was huge and just so amazing. My boyfriend had the pork chop and said not one part was dried out. A few others had the gnocchi and it was also delicious. Everyone loved their food and the prices aren't terrible considering the quality you get. I would definitely recommend and I plan to return.
Cool place, okay food. We were there for an engagement party and we were crammed into the entry hallway and they had 2 more parties going on. Not really fair to our group. Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

We got the beef short rib and shrimp pasta coupled with a peach style spicy margarita. The food was delicious. Great spot for a friends catch up, birthday dinner, or date night. There’s also a nice front of the house bar for quick cocktails and bites too. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

We went yesterday to celebrate a birthday with my family and it was such an awful experience. Our waiter was the rudest person and she was so inattentive. I swear we waited for ever just to get drinks and it took forever to get everything on the table. It felt like she hated us and didn’t want to be a be at her job. I definitely do not recommend just because of the service. Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30 Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3
Grand Vin hosted us for our engagement party, and it was honestly one of the best days of our lives! I highly, highly recommend them if you are looking to host a shower or any kind of celebration! To start, this restaurant is our happy place. We come here about once a week ether to have dinner or enjoy a drink at the bar. So, when we were considering having an engagement party, we knew it would have to be at Grand Vin. Decor reminds me of Napa, like a slightly rustic (but also super classy) wine bar. You don’t even need much decor because the string lights and greenery throughout the restaurant set the perfect, romantic vibe. The service is top-notch, Amanda and Mike (the managers) were communicative and so helpful organizing everything. I was able to drop off decor the day prior and then leave everything fully in their hands to execute. We spent about the first 45 mins or so of the party hanging out in the bar area with passed appetizers, then were all seated in the dining room for the meal. They timed all of the courses perfectly and the portions were incredibly generous! The food is insanely good; everyone kept talking about it. I dream of that sea bass and gnocchi all the time! We had about 45 people seated in their back dining area, but they can fit a bit more than that if you rent out the whole space. There is also a parking garage about a block away (a SUPER huge plus for all Hoboken venues!).
