This is our go to Mexican restaurant in Rockdale. I don't think I've ever ordered something off the menu that wasn't absolutely delicious. We always order extra of their homemade flour tortillas to take home with us. All their sides- refried beans, charro beans and rice are soo flavorful! Love the owners Marcella and Martin. Their food is good, but last time my husband and I visited they forgot our order. People who just arrived at the restaurant got their food before us. We talked to an employee and they said there’s nothing they could do. We’ll probably just stick to takeout from them.

Food was pretty great. We had mixed fajita - meat was seasoned and not dried out. Husband had carne asada with nopale and he enjoyed it immensely! Beans were our least favorite item, taste was a bit off to me, but overall it was good and we would come again. Drinks (margs) were decent too. Got a buzz off a large frozen. Would avoid coming during a deep clean. The cleaner they use was pretty overwhelming and I can still smell it in my hair after leaving but it won’t stop us from coming back. This time when we went to Gonzales Mexican restaurant. The spoke Spanish but when my husband ordered a Michalada. He said that it wasn't made with the right ingredients. Or maybe it just wasn't mixed right not sure. But even the color wasn't right either. Gonzales Mexican Restaurant needs a parking lot or at least more parking spaces. To me the food is decent.
