Stopped in Gene's for lunch. Chili was great, the fries crispy and not greasy, great atmosphere and friendly attentive staff. Fair priced meal and draft beer. Repeat visits for sure!

ordered wings at 1:30, was told 30 min wait. showed up at 2:05. Went to pay for order, cashier laughed and said “it’lol still be a couple mins”. Didn’t get order until 3:00. Turned out my order was ready the entire time sitting on the pickup table… Cashier didn’t even check the already prepared food sitting right in front of her.
Get the order home and one order of wings was completely sauceless as if they took it out of fryer then directly into takeout container. took order back and got a refund. They didn’t care about the situation. No apology for ruining my day with both of their mistakes
To note, a few weeks before this similar situation happened, ordered breakfast, waited over a hour. They never put the order in to begin with.
I live down the street from this place and order food / attend bar often. Normally the food is awesome and service is good. But lately service has gone downhill.
Hopefully they can hire competent employees that actually want to work at their JOB.

A few friends and I stopped in after hiking at the state park nearby for some lunch, and I think we made a great choice! This is a no-frills, laid-back diner (so don't expect anything super fancy or cushy) that concentrates its efforts on their food. The crab dip we ordered came with the perfect amount of soft pretzel bread and some saltine crackers, and their cheesesteaks were huge and delicious (both pictured)! Coming from the city, you definitely get a lot more food for what you pay, and everything we tried was well worth it. The staff and other patrons were all very friendly and gave great recommendations. Will definitely stop by again when I'm in the area!
