About
Both Cannon Beach History Center and Museum and Gatsby's Oceanside Speakeasy & Steakhouse are recommended for visiting. Cooks at this bar do their best to provide visitors with tasty gatsby, filet mignon and stuffed mushrooms. Nicely cooked tiramisu can make a great impression on you. Good wine or delicious martinis are among the most often ordered drinks at Gatsby's Oceanside Speakeasy & Steakhouse. The cosy atmosphere of this place makes customers feel relaxed and have a nice time. According to the guests' opinions, prices are fair. The terrific decor is what you will find here. 4.8 is what this spot got from the Google rating system.

We had the best experience at Gatsby’s. The food was phenomenal! The atmosphere was perfect and the chef and server were amazing. Thank you for a fabulous date night. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $50–100 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Loaded Baked Potato
The inside of the restaurant was clean, cozy and well decorated. It is very small, only 5 tables and is by reservation only. There is one cook and one server, both great and both spend time with each table. The food was presented beautifully. It looks better than it tastes, however, it isn't awful. I just didn't think it warrants the prices. We had a bottle of wine, sea scallops for an appetizer, one filet each, lobster tail, a loaded baked potato and green beans to share, then the cheesecake from Carnagey deli in New York, of course. Total with 20% tip was $500. The scallops were a bit overcooked and rubbery but had okay flavor. The steak was drenched in a sauce that was very salty and, in my opinion, ruined the flavor of the steak. The loaded potato was huge, you can't really go wrong with a baked potato, although, it could have used a little more butter and sour cream. The lobster, green beans and cheesecake were all very good, my favorite part of the whole meal. I'm happy to have had the experience, but I will not return in the future with the current prices. Absolutely fabulous! The scallops were delicious and perfectly prepared. The stuffed potato was incredible. The Filet was so tender, delicious, and exactly rare/medium rare. The wine selections were outstanding, and the cocktails were divine. Overall, it is a magnificent restaurant. Chef Jeffrey came out to check on us several times (with some great stories that he shared), and Melissa was an excellent hostess/server. Gatsby's is well worth the price. It is truly a superb dining experience. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $100+ Recommended dishes Bulleit Rye Saterac

How do I ever go back to my mundane palletized diet after this? The wagyu filet mignon was rich, finely cut and presented with an in-house, unique sauce. The scallops were wonderfully plated and presented with a delicious flavor, as well as a crispy, golden texture. The service from Dominic, Michelle and Jeff was personal, intimate, and catered to a connective dining experience. We will be back and if you don’t come, we will happily take your table. 👉NOT the place to trust for your nice night out. Unless you want to turn $300 into general disappointment. 📝 OVERALL: Beautiful atmosphere but not quite flawless with the food. While the experience is a special night out thanks to the decor and accommodating servers, unfortunately the food just doesn't fully match the price tag. 🍹 Cocktails are okay. Unfortunately, the mai tai needs some reworking as it is a fruity interpretation with pineapple, orange, and grapefruit -- not the original 1940's lime forward drink with the key orgeat syrup. A mai tai is all about simply highlighting a good rum. I will say the gin martini was much better! 🐚👎 I hate to say that the scallops just tasted burnt. The char on the exterior just had a bitter burnt flavor that overpowered everything else. Maybe a too intense sear, I don't know. Burnt flavor lingered on the tongue for some time after. 🥩👎 Nice cut of steak, for sure. The suggested medium rare came out as a very high medium unfortunately. I feel it may be best to order a step under, rare, here for the best doneness. It had a nice char on the outside with great seasoning. With other nearby tables enjoying their evening, I didn't want to sour the atmosphere by sending it back. Overall I enjoyed the flavors at least. I think this is a nice restaurant, but can't really justify coming back considering the cost vs execution. Hope your experience is different! I wish I could give Gatsby more than 5 stars. The food was simply perfection. The cocktails were great, the atmosphere was nice and the chef was personable. The escargot was better than what I have ever had in Paris. Hands down it is the best restaurant in Cannon Beach. This was our first visit to Gatsby's but we will be back for sure. The service from everyone (hostess, bartender and chef) was AMAZING! The food was to die for. The best lobster we have ever had. Everything was prepared to perfection. We especially love that after each part of the meal came out, Chef Jeff came out to check that everything was prepared to our liking. Great place! We especially like the intimate nature of the restaurant because it's so small. Will definitely recommend that anyone going to Cannon Beach.

New to Cannon Beach, the chef owner Jeff has relocated and opened Gatsby’s. We were able to experience both lunch on the patio, which just opened, and we were lucky enough to get a reservation for dinner. When visiting Cannon Beach with our family we tend to expect more pub fare, so this was a very unexpected experience. All flavors were great. Especially the filet and escargot. Definitely a spot to check out and enjoy Chef Jeff’s every changing menu. On top of everything. My 6.5 year old who actually eats most everything said “the chef is amazing!!” after eating most of the escargot. They were very nice with my little one. Didn’t ask us to pay a split charge just brought another plate out with a customized mocktail. Highly recommend. Make sure to make a reservation.
Literally the best meal we’ve had in oregon. Everything was cooked to perfection and the flavors…. just WOW. The pleasant, handsome chef came out and greeted us as well as coming out during the meal to share details about the items we chose. We enjoyed escargot and scallops for an appetizer, my wife had twin lobster tails and I had the ribeye for our entree and topped it off with the best rendition of tiramisu and espresso to finish off our experience for the best anniversary dinner ever!
My husband and I ate here this weekend and it was AMAZING!!! Highlight of our trip to Cannon Beach. The atmosphere was a moody 20's vibe, inviting, and comfortable. The service was exceptional with warm greetings from both the server and the chef/owner. Then you have the food! It was delish, from the appetizer all the way to the dessert and drinks. I highly recommend making this one of your stops on the Oregon coast. We were honored to be one of the first to dine here!
