Update: The manager of the restaurant called us and was very sorry for our experience. He offered for us to come back and get dinner on the restaurant. We already had plans but we came back for dessert and drinks. They made sure we had wonderful service and I really appreciated them reaching out to make our trip to Jackson hole special. The food was delicious! The cocktails were great. BUT my partner made a reservation for my birthday about a month in advance. We arrived 5 minutes before our reservation for 7 on a Friday night and we were told that they were running late without a good estimate when we would be seated. There isn’t really anywhere to wait and the bar was filled so we asked if they could call us when the table was ready. They said of course and we roamed around downtown along the icy sidewalks for a bit then went to get a drink. We were called 25 minutes later and told the table was ready. We were seated at a high top next to the bar in an actual hallway right next to the door. I could see the other tables were having a lovely time the cushy booths. So we felt a bit of fomo. The wait staff was mostly for the bar. They did try to stop by as frequently as they could but it could have been a bit better. The food was good, we got the pork shank and the corn curry. For a birthday dinner the ambiance could have been nicer and the service a bit better. But eh.. also no parking so walk if you are staying in town.

Everything is amazing. The pork shank lives up to the hype. Rosie served 8 of us and is an absolute gem. Everything we had was delicious. Service Dine in Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Pork Shank

The server was great. There was a snobby girl at the entrance who did get mad that we held the door open for a few seconds. No big deal. I ordered the elk bolognese, and it was disgusting. It did look good (for people who eat with their eyes it probably was good) besides the obviously watery sauce and cheese from a bag. I grew up in Italy, but this pasta was below average for American standards. I wish I had gone to Olive Garden. The sauce wasn’t even bolognese, it tasted like prego sauce with unseasoned elk chunk. Bolognese is supposed to be infused with different ingredients and sauce for a few hours. It was obvious that this was just put together in a cute way right before. It absolutely was not marinated over a low stove heat for three hours and was missing essential bolognese ingredients like carrots and celery. The pappardelle and bread were good, but the sauce and cheese (which was obviously from a bag not grated from Parmigiano reggiano) was all extremely disgusting. Anyways I could go on but I hate to complain (my girlfriend’s burger was good however) so I added a clip of a famous Italian chef (chef Mariola) for the restaurant. Find the full video on Tik tok. Just use elk beef instead as a substitute. But stop calling what you served bolognese you didn’t even make bolognese sauce. And it was almost 40$ for the plate. We had a really excellent meal here. This might have been the best piece of trout that I have ever consumed. Several in the group got the pork shank and they said it was really solid. I sampled a buddies short rib as well and it was superb. If I return to Jackson this joint would be on the top of my dinner list for a nice sit down. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

Overall we loved the place and would like to come back someday. Our waitress was excellent. Blood orange cocktail and the Bison short rib with mole were awesome. The curry noodles with sweet corn was just okay though hence the 4 stars. Lastly, the chocolate cake with huckleberry ice cream was the perfect finish. One of the best meals we’ve ever enjoyed in Jackson in many years of coming here. The basics were all nice - ambiance, service, drinks, etc - but the food was phenomenal. After struggling to select a dish from such an expansive menu with many intriguing options, we landed on the pasta and the surf and turf special. The pasta was great - full of flavor, perfectly made from scratch noodles, etc. 10/10 would recommend. But the real star of the show was the Surf & Turf Special. It was the kind of dish you just know an incredibly skilled chef thought up and created - steak was cooked perfectly, scallops fresh and seasoned to perfection, served with braised beets and a unique beet bernaise sauce that was just incredible. Even the broccolini was cooked unlike I’d ever had before with a lightly charred and very complex flavor. And all for a very reasonable cost. It was the type of meal you expect chefs to win awards for, the type you crave for months to come and will have us return each year we are back. I REALLY hope that special makes it onto the permanent menu so I can tell everyone we know to go experience it, but we will be back regardless as everything was delicious and there are about 5 more dishes on the menu I can’t wait to try!
Our experience was quite underwhelming. We tried 7 dishes and 2 desserts. There were more misses than hits. The good dishes: mushroom toast with blue cheese and a balsamic reduction, and the beef tartare was excellent. The failed dishes: truffle pasta (unbalanced), broccoli cheese soup, general tso’s cauliflower (I have had this dish before at other restaurants. This was a terrible rendition), pork buns (ratio of pork to bun was ridiculously off). Okay dishes: the burger itself was okay but the fries were desperately in need of salt. The desserts were pretty good: donut holes, flourless chocolate cake. All in all, they’re batting about 40% - not very good when you are dropping $50 per person. Maybe it was an off night for this restaurant. Maybe the main chef was sick. All I know is that based on our experience I would NOT recommend this restaurant. Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
