Garden State Bagels makes California style bagels. They have tons of options cooked fresh daily! The jalapeno wasn't super spicy and great with an egg & cheese sandwich. The veggie egg sandwich is basic (eggs are thin, no shade) but hits the spot for breakfast. I went back twice during our stay at a local Airbnb.
Keep up the good work! We need more bagel shops!💯

What a great bagel shop!. Mike was so friendly and the sandwiches were enjoyed by everyone. The best bagels I've had in a very long time. It was also very nice chatting with a fellow New Yorker 😁. Definitely worth you stopping in for bagel and great service. Enjoy!
Absolutely the best bagel I have ever had!!! I love bagels with just a bit of butter. I had their everything bagel and plain and both were delicious. A good crust and so light and delicious on the inside. Also amazingly friendly staff.
As someone who’s grown up in New Jersey, I can safely say that these bagels aren’t anywhere near representative of their pricing or what they’re trying to emulate. Essentially what you get when you come here are a rude and snappy staff that aren’t in the least bit welcoming. Overpriced bagels, sandwiches, 10 dollars for a McDonald’s quality egg and cheese, and an additional fee to have your bagel cut? Oh, and never mind the fact that they close ridiculously early and the hours you find on google are inaccurate as to when the store is actually open/closed. Back in the day when we were kids and got out of school at 3pm, we would go to our local bagel pantry where it was stocked with fresh food, friendly staff, and prices that reflected what you actually got, with no additional fees to cut a bagel. This place really needs to get off it’s high horse. I assure you it’s nothing like bagel pantries you’ll find on the east coast anyways.
First and last time coming here. Came around 10 am on a Sunday and they had 5 bagels to choose from.... not 5 different types, literally 5 available and none coming out any time soon. For over $2 a bagel in the center of Carlsbad Village, I would imagine they'd have more than 5 available, and want to serve the community. Maybe they saw they they broke even for the day and couldn't care less to make more. Not coming back. The bagel tasted like any other grocery store bagel. 🤷🏼♂️ I guess I learned the hard way... One star at best, mainly because they couldn't even fulfill a half dozen order.... Don't bother, save your time.
OMG. The best bagels I've ever had. The French Toast bagel was incredible with Strawberry cream cheese. The Combo bagel, most popular, was gifted to us by the shop. Nice people, fantastic bagels, makes Einstein look average. We loved the place ! Also, the Asiago Cheese bagel with Strawberry cream cheese was fantastic.
VERY good. Though they only last the day you buy them. If you buy for the following day, rock hard. They have great cream cheeses and a fridge of drinks as well. Tons of bagel flavors. Highly recommend!
