By far one of my favourite Indian Cuisine Restaurant. We chanced on this spot via google and with a rating of 4.5. Food didn't disappoint. Located at the Mega Mall Kisumu, we went for dinner at 9pm and we were still served hot freshly made dishes. We found it full and still more patrons coming in. Wycliffe was our server, great at food knowledge and recommended different items and starters as well. Their chicken lollipops is a must have. Anything mutton, chicken will be a hit and their buttered naans are a delight. My brother had his tea and it was mesmerizing. Our Lime Lemonade with Kisumu heat was a welcome delight. Security is topnotch and there are other clubs within the mall to sample after doing dinner. Will be back to Garam Masala for sure. Very tasty and good Indian restaurant in Kisumu. Try the Chicken Lolipop! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
This restaurant claimed to be sereve Indian foods, but far away from teste, chicken are tasteless , naans are soggy, I have order many times but not satisfying experience, service is below than average, but if you stuck in Kisumu this the where you can have 10% taste of non veg Indian foods. Don't accept much quality and testy foods as the name suggest, place is quit average to sheet, it will feel hot if you have lunch as proper ventilation is not there. Meal type Lunch Price per person KES 1,500–2,000 Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2
The service was very good. The staff are readily available to help. The food was super delicious too. I'd recommend this place. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person KES 2,500–3,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Their food is just amazing, all up to par with service and ambience a 10/10. The quantity though is very less for the over priced food items. The way they serve the food, including the cutlery is very special. They must work on the quantity though.
My husband and I enjoyed our dinner here. The place is so beautiful with great ambience, the service was really great and the food was out of this world . Definitely going back. Meal type Dinner Price per person KES 2,000–2,500 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Chicken Tikka

I rarely give a five star review but after my visit to Garam Masala I think it's absolutely the best restaurant in Kisumu bar none. Great service, lovely ambiance and great service. The Indian cuisine is absolutely delicious and so well done. The portions are not large however, you get so full I didn't finish my food. It was some type of buttered vegetable mix with pita. I had to take the rest home. You also get some crunchy starters and dips for FREE! I have never seen that in any restaurant in this country. If you love Indian food you have to pay this location a visit.

I've been blessed to enjoy Indian cuisine in Pune, Bangalore, Mumbai, Agra, Delhi, each with distinctive flavours to offer. Most memorable was the innovative diversity of the delicious vegetarian offerings in Pune. Additionally, I have had similar experiences in London Soho, Mombasa, Nairobi & I practically lived along Rusholme in Manchester, fondly known as the Curry Mile during my undergraduate years in Manchester UK. Being the foodie that I am, I am always after a taste, an aroma, an delicious experience, consistency! I must say Garam Masala Restaurant in Kisumu, Kenya, meets these expectations every single time!!! Kisumu, Kenya's 3rd largest City on the shores of Lake Victoria has a gem indeed! Previously I have been in Kisumu City for work. This time I am in town to support friends who have been bereaved of their patriarch. After the solemn funeral ceremony I was keen for an uplifting experience. On visiting Garam Masala restaurant I ordered the so called Kadai Gosht, diligently following the waiter's guidance. It is a 1st grilled mutton then stewed in a mix of spices. Previously I have indulged in the basic Tandoori Chicken Curry accompanied by a fluffy buttery naan bread, that never competes with the bursting natural flavours of the locally sourced free range chicken & the delicately & deliberately selected Tikka spices; it rather compliments and accompanies the proteins at each instance within the symphony orchestrated by these flavours in the palate. I am already looking forward to my next visit. Please add Garam Masala to your 'to try' list, You will not regret it at all!
