We went with a party of 10, they were understaffed and working as hard and fast as they could gettting drinks and food orders. The kitchen had no problem keeping up, putting out appetizers and entrees in a timely manner. The portions are actually too large to finish. The chef is talented and puts out food that is creative and cooked well. This restaurant is a nice addition to the town of Fryeburg. Thank-you for a wonderful meal and taking care of my family . I think I order the wrong choices when I come here because it’s never outstanding even though my friends love it. I waited a long time before my order was taken but the server was nice once she came around. I ‘m thinking this place is overrated. It is more expensive than other restaurants of the same caliber in the area. We've eaten here 6 or 7 times - NEVER disappointed. Easily the best food we've had in the whole Lake Region. Example: 2 days before Christmas we both had the Dungeness Crab - the freshest and most succulent we've ever had. Tom (the owner) even helped me navigate the cracking! (Side note: at first I had to "get over" the super casual hunting-inspired environment, but now I embrace it !!) I went here for the first time with my partner, and safe to say we will be coming back whenever we're in the area! It's so clear that the chef handles the food with care, attention to detail, and passion for flavor. All of the staff were knowledgeable, and it's exciting that the menu changes so frequently to give diners the most fresh and seasonal food. Highly recommend!!! Gluten free options available, as well.
