Very good service and welcoming staff. Really enjoy the vibe of the place as it is very comfortable. The food that we ordered was just ok. The kids Mac n cheese has too much spice to it for a 4yr old. The pizza was decent night too complain about but nothing special. The burger they managed to cook half well done and half medium rare and burnt the bun. Likely would give a second chance but was not impressed. Trying to find a place open on New Year's Day to eat is pretty hard in downtown SLC was pretty challenging. From scratch was one of the options. The place is nice and very sterile. The food was pretty good - burgers were very heavy and savory. The risotto cakes were some of the best I've had. The salads sounded so good, I wish I got one. Our waiter was nice with an interesting personality. Prices were average slightly high on some items. Dinner at From Scratch was fine. The Scratch Burger was good. Meat was tasty. My wife got the White Out Pizza and liked that. Service was serviceable. Nothing extra-ordinary or memorable. Perfunctory at best. Atmosphere was suitable but the music went from loud to louder in an attempt to drown out the Friday night scene. I wish the food was as good as other places, or maybe we weren't lucky with the choices. I ordered the scratch burger, which, in my opinion, was too salty, and something was missing on the flavor side of it. My husband ordered the egg burger. In his opinion, the burger was missing salt, spices, or a je ne sais quoi. I wish the French fries were better. Like I said, maybe it was the choice we made. From Scratch will always be my go to place in Salt Lake City. I love that everything is from scratch. The pasta, the bread, the sauces. The risotto cake with the tomato sauce and arugula is the best thing I’ve ever eaten in my life. The wood fired bread with the butter and apple jam is amazing. I’ve tried multiple things here and they’re all unique and delicious. I love this place. One night, they forgot about us and didn’t get us our food till we asked someone. They wanted to make everything right so they gave us our food for free! We could’ve had a bad experience that night but they made sure to give us a good experience. I love this place so much! I was in town for the SLC half marathon. A few of us wanted to go to dinner so we went somewhere within walking distance from our hotel. The restaurant is cute. But the chairs are uncomfortable for any amount of time. The food: I ordered the chicken sandwich on sourdough. The bread was so hard and crunchy, I ended up taking it off and eating the chicken. The French fries were soggy. I didn’t eat but s couple of them. A friend ordered the white pizza. This was huge! But the flavors were not there. My other friend enjoyed her dish. We all agreed we would not come back and probably wouldn’t recommend it for something great to eat. If you’re stopping in and don’t have other options check it out. It also took our server over 30 minutes to get our checks as well as a box for the leftover pizza. She finally walked up to ask someone else for something to put it in so we could leave. We are looking for some new places in SLC, and stumbled upon From Scratch. The menu looked fun so we gave it a try. Salmon - 4 stars - salmon was cooked perfectly. The pan fried veggies were flavorful. The mashed potato needed a little more love. We are a big potato fan in this family. A little more effort would go along way. Scratch burger - 3 stars - the onion straws on the burger were soggy. The flavor was fine. Hopes were high but we would not come back for this burger. The fries were nothing special. They made their own ketchup. Super cool touch. The bread appetizer was nothing special. The apple preserve was exceptional. The bread was a forgettable delivery system. They have a lot of really good looking things on the menu that will be back to try Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

Service: 5/5 , Food: 4/5 Tried From Scratch for the first time and overall, it was a good experience. We were able to make a reservation for our party of 9 and it was really convenient seeing how busy the restaurant gets. The staff was super nice and our server was very helpful and on top of checking in on us and making sure waters were filled. We ordered: Brussels Sprouts - 100% recommend Fennel Sausage Pizza - Highly Recommend Chicken Parmesan with house made noodles - 100% recommend Pastrami Burger - Not Great. The bun was so hard that you could knock on it and clearly hear the hollow sound. Perhaps it was left under the heat lamp too long. Fettuccine Alfredo with house made noodles - 100% recommend. At the end of the meal, we asked for our parking ticket to be validated. I’m not sure if the staff didn’t recognize the parking ticket, but after fighting with the parking booth lady, we found out that the stamp from the restaurant was not actually valid and for the wrong parking structure. Had the staff known that was not the right ticket to validate, we could have avoided the whole situation, but what’s done is done. For those of you who park anywhere but the Wells Fargo Building, just know that the validation stamp doesn’t actually work.

Great little spot near the Gallivan Center in Salt Lake City. Cozy little side alley. Dairy Free across the street. To begin we used the check wait time option on Google which said there was little to no wait. We didn’t get there for about 20 min so when we got there we have a small wait. The place was packed but we ate at the bar which was fine. Took a few moments to wait (to be seated and then to order). Overall very short wait time and the overall time to be served was perfect. Had a Diet Coke as I waited. We ordered and I neglected to take fresh pictures at the start of the meal. What I’ve included here is what remained of the delicious meal. We loved the food. Gustavo our server was excellent and attentive. Other servers assisted and helped make the experience fantastic. They asked us to move a short way down the bar and accommodated us for that. We ordered the woodfire bread with Apple jam and butter. Very good. Loved it. We also ordered the beet salad which we split. Again classic beets and arugula. Loved it. Just the right balance. I also ordered Bleu Bacon Burger with Sweet Potato Fries. Wonderful meal. My wife ordered the steak sandwich with traditional fries. As we sat at the bar we watched them make pizzas and loafs of bread. Really fun. Like I said the place was packed before we got there. They seated us within 10 min. Right after we were seated another huge group of like 20 folks came afterward so we feel we hit it at just the right moment or we could have waited awhile. With that said I heard they were understaffed for the night but they did an amazing job with tables full. People were happy and loud. I quite enjoyed the environment and loved the food. Foodies will like it. We still had to take some food home in boxes. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30 Recommended dishes Wood Fired Bread
