This bar is for locals but the staff will bend over backwards to serve and help anyone. I cannot understate their kindness and service.
I came in as a solo farang, it's easy enough to order beer if you know how to say Chang, Leo, or Singha. They have them all and can serve them with or without ice.
The food menu is harder, they have one but it is only in Thai script, I used the Google translate app and got a spicey pork salad, the one staff who could speak English came to check if spicy is OK for me and I told her I love spicy food. The salad was excellent and spicy but not to crazy spicy, just what I wanted.
Other staff members talked with me through the night with mixed results using Google translate, unfortunately the app handles Thai pretty poorly buy I was still able to learn names and get a little across.
I felt welcomed here as someone who can only say 'hello' and 'thank you' in Thai (and I can't even say them well) the staff was still kind and welcoming. The meal and two large bottles of Chang were just under 280 baht which seems very reasonable.
