Food: Food was good! Came out quick which is always nice! The Chicken Parmesan was good especially the actual chicken but the sauce was basic and tasted kind of bland. Spaghetti bolognese was really good!! Just wish there was a little more sauce. Service: Server was very friendly and attentive. She was very well versed in the menu. Atmosphere: Very dark and romantic setting. Has nice candles and quiet vibe. Michelle had spectacular table service. This is one of the best Italian restaurant we have in Bozeman. The atmosphere is on point with Valentin’s day. Hats off to the chef the meat balls for the appetizer was delicious. The special was delightful, we will be back soon. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
We’ve been coming to this wonderful place for the last 5 years. Tonight I forgot my ID and of course I understand that they need the real thing with AI tech now. So I sent my poor husband home to grab it. The staff were very apologetic and made him a fresh coffee when he arrived back. We still love this place. The food is always amazing and we appreciate the staffs great attitudes and accommodations. I’m sure some customers aren’t as understanding. Keep doing what you’re doing! We made dinner reservations for my husband's birthday on Saturday evening, what a wonderful time we had! The service was excellent and the food was delicious! We split a bottle of wine, enjoyed the CROUTE aux FROMAGE as an appetizer, Spaghetti Carbonara & Chicken Parmigiana. The server also brought us Tiramisu I highly recommend Fresco. It was the perfect date night/Birthday! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $50–100 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Manhattan Side Salad

We visited this restaurant on 08/21. I hate giving any place a negative review, but this was not a good time and I doubt my qualms with the food are issues that will be resolved by going back again in a few days. I guess I’ll start with the location — this restaurant is located in one of the loveliest spots in all of Bozeman: adjacent to the creek, shaded by trees, just far enough from the road to hide the worst of the noise, and surrounded by easy parking. Inside, the restaurant is dimly lit, with warm lighting, outside light, and candles illuminating the space. I love that. I get a fancy upscale vibe from the place (and the prices). It’s a bit cramped and noisy, though, and the person at the table behind us was vaping (INSIDE THE DINING ROOM) like there was no tomorrow; not hiding it or anything. Kind-of rips you out of the fancy / upscale vibe, but whatever as long as the food is good. It was not though. My SO and I got Manhattan Salad, Caesar Salad, Spaghetti Puttanesca, and Broccolini with Italian sausage (the only thing I managed to take a picture of). I’ll start with the good — the Manhattan salad was excellent. I did not get it with any meat additions as I wanted to see how it was on its own, and it was great. Now everything else — the bad. The Caesar salad was bizarre — it had tomatoes on it, the dressing was like very thinned mayo, and the whole salad didn’t taste like much of anything (unless you got the version with anchovies — we got one of each and the anchovy one tasted like anchovies). The spaghetti puttanesca was very simple, not seasoned much at all and hardly more than extremely watery crushed tomatoes with capers and artichoke (some of which had spines still). The sauce was *repelled* by the noodles — the two would not combine or even touch each other despite trying. The broccolini with Italian sausage was so unexpected that I had everyone at our table try it to make sure I wasn’t crazy, and the general consensus was “I hope that didn’t actually cost $28”. It was some of the plainest pasta I’ve ever had, swimming in salt water (“Parmesan broth reduction” — just watery salt flavored water) with an unseasoned broccolini and the driest sausage patty I’ve ever had. Paradoxically, dry sausage patty floating on salt water results in something that is both unbelievably dry and unbelievably wet at the same time. The bread that came with the pasta was like a bake-it-yourself King’s Hawaiian bun with some Parmesan cheese cooked onto it. It was truly bizarre as a side for pasta. Fluffy and sweet, 2/3 of the way soggy by the time the plate got to the table. I am no bread expert, so this may be the norm somewhere — this honestly didn’t detract from much. So that was the highlights of our visit. The other people we were with said their food was alright, and the servers were great. None of the food issues seemed like they were the result of an infrequent problem — not like “the kitchen ran out of tomatoes so they had to substitute canned white gravy”. This was normal food prepared poorly. And expensively. I will certainly go back at some point — I don’t particularly want to, but I’ll be happy to redo / strike out this review if the food improves. First off our server was really nice and friendly. My girlfriend liked her salad. I had the chicken parmigiana and the chicken tasted very strange, I had to turn my phone flashlight on to see if it was raw because of the dim lighting, and the breading didn't really stay on. The cheesecake tasted great, but it was a extremely small sliver and was $8.50. Definitely wasn't happy spending $90. Fresco Cafe has come along way in atmosphere since I moved away from Bozeman in 2015. Their new location (new to me) is very chic, warm, and wine bar charming. The thing that hasn't changed is the delicious food. This was my favorite Italian eatery back when I lived in Montana and I'm glad to see that it's still thriving and doing well. The home made Italian sausage was bland. The sauce was watered down and had a weak flavor The broccoli stalks were large and tough. We were put in the back room which was nice at first, then came a large group of ladies. The noise volume increased to the point no one in my group could hear each other. This place has sure changed since my previous visits I will not return. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $50–100 Food: 1 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 1
We had a great dinner last night; what a wonderful restaurant. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. The food was so good! I got the yummy Ciopinno special, which was a favorite, and my husband got the lasagna, which was the best we have had. It was a great night!
