This is probably my favorite country buffet I've ever eaten at. My favorites were the sweet potato casserole, the black-eyed peas, the sweet rolls, the mashed potatoes, and gravy, the fried chicken, and the turkey in gravy. So I loved a lot of stuff! They have collard greens, corn casserole, soups, a salad bar, dessert bar, and plenty of drinks. The waitress was always filling our drinks and everything seemed nice and clean. It smelled so good even when we were walking inside from the parking lot. I wish there was one near where I live. There were a lot of people in there, but there was never a weight at the buffet. Everything flowed very well and everybody was very friendly. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
First time visiting this place on the urging of my son who lives here in Florida. We were visiting Florida at the time. My husband and I and daughter arrived around 11:30 and we were really impressed! It was on a Saturday and we had lunch! There was about a 20 min wait as they were changing the buffet from breakfast to lunch. This restaurant has an impressive buffet with good ole Southern Food and we all loved it. The food was delicious, the price was great but we were told that the strawberry shortcake was the best and I have to say that it really was. I highly recommend Fred's and we will definitely be back on our next visit! Just wanted to start off that our server was absolutely awesome!! She was so attentive and sweet also the guy doing deserts was a breath of fresh air he was so nice and friendly. The food was ok..def thought it was lacking in the flavor department and some stuff def needs a diffrent compartment to cover it up properly so people's hairs are not in it.Overall it was okay don't know if I would personally go back. All you can eat buffet, with an option for only 1 plate, just vegetables or no meat. All of the food was fresh. The corn casserole with rich and their best dish. The pulled pork was a dry and adding BBQ sauce is a must. I would pass on the Trout fish as it had a fishy smell and although they had several types of bread, I was not impressed with any of them. Their ice-cream was average and the Pecan Pie was rich and possibly the best I ever tasted.
I loved all of it, it has a friendly home enviroment, & delicious southern food. There were so many selections but I loved the roast pork shoulder , the fried chicken, the corn casserole, the mashed potatoes with gravy, the pecan pie, red velvet cake, strawberry shortcake all yummy.
