Is this owned by Coppola? i think it might be. It's fairly good. I'll definitely go again. Then? Go right up the street to Copolla's .. I love looking and dreaming about that Tucker! Wine's pretty good, too. I like the Virginia Dare wine, also. It's very tasty stuff.
Wero - American native food . 7/15/2018 - inside Virginia date winery. Don't let the name or decor fool you, this is not an effort to emulate tribal cuislne before America was invaded by European settlers. What is there is excellent homemade fresh flat bread crispy tacos salads and salmon. Bison ribs and pine nut ice cream and blueberry lemonade were my favorites! Just
Reopened in May and summer hours are 11am-5pm Friday thru Sunday.
Excellent service and food. A unique dining experience. Great decor. Beautiful setting. After you visit you will want to take your friends to enjoy the experience with you. Fascinating story behind the iconic wines. Books and art display Native American history.

I liked the winery inside and out and would return. My husband and did not wine taste as we came to Wero for lunch. My meal was mediocre. My order was green chili stew, it was an insult to the real deal and vegetarian. It should be renamed tomatillo stew due to the overwhelming flavor of the tomatillos. My pinto beans we a tad too salty. I didn't taste any other spices except salt. Flavor could be enhanced using crushed oregano, cumin, or small cubes of ham steak and garlic. A experienced chef would know how to use these spices. Actually so would most home cooks. The India fry bread was cold and chewy. All the fry bread I've eaten has been made to order and served hot or at least warm. My family roots are deep in New Mexico even though my siblings and I were born in California. I'm very familiar with the food mentioned. We will definitely return to wine taste and order something different. We are wine club members at FF Coppola's other winery and enjoy eating at Rustic restaurant.
The wine was decent, there was one VERY good red. However the $25 tasting fee (and four bottle purchase to waive) was too steep for quality of wine and the area. The restaurant on site is awesome however.
Love the ambiance and the simple, local menu. Some say there is an issue with Mr. Coppola cashing in on the indigenous culture of California, but he did receive permission from the local tribal elders. He also did his best to keep the recipes as true as possible to indigenous foods with a little flare to compete with the other goods in town. Very relaxed environment.
This was a great find - who knew Francis Ford Coppola had another winery just down the road? A very relaxing wine tasting and the whole scoop on the back story of Virginia Dare (ask them - it's a great story!) Some interesting wines - we came away with a couple of bottles to enjoy later. Go upstairspin the elevator and check out the great old ads for Virginia Dare wine, then check out the warehouse full of barrels from the 2nd floor.
