The food was really delicious. My kids who oddly aren't fans of Mexican food cleaned their plates and can't wait to go back. The portions are giant and the prices are super reasonable. Our waiter was terrific as well and gecwas always very attentive. The hostesses were a little snotty, though. I stood there for a bit before they acknowledged me so they can be improved for sure. The restraunt has ample seating split into two rooms and the environment was very loud. I'm not a fan of loud but I went on a Saturday night so it was expected. I ordered take out. Stephanie G, assisted me on my order. She repeated the order twice on the phone . My husband, who was celebrating his birthday that day ,drove for about 30 minutes to pick up the food(we live about 30-40 minutes from this restaurant). Previously, we have gone there a couple of times.When my husband got home we noticed they had given us the wrong order. We order 3 chicken tacos plates but they gave us beef tacos. I called the restaurant requesting to speak to Victor, the manager, who has no respect for customers. When I told him that Stephanie G had order me the wrong order, he doubted me and made it seem like I was lying. Victor asked me for the phone number that I had placed the order (which was on my receipt) and he claimed that phone was not popping up on the computer and sometimes customer lie. In other words he basically insinuated that I was lying. He thought I was seeking free food or free coupons. I do not want any free food or coupons because I have no plans of returning to Fonda Don Chon. So delicious! Went with a large group on a weeknight (11 of us) and they embraced us with open arms. Impressive the server took orders without writing things down and everything seemed right. Portions are huge so don't be put off by the price of things, definitely worth its value. I ordered a molcajete and it was so delicious. It came with a plate of rice and beans with nice portions of lettuce, pico, and guacamole as well as two tortillas. The flan was on point as well. I definitely recommend stopping here for a yummy experience. The customer service is wonderful as well and it's nicely done inside.
