First of the times on Google was wrong so had to get food to go. Tried fried fish and some steak, chicken and shrimp fajitas. Everything tasted fresh including the side of rice and salad. Portions and generous. I never had Honduras food before but it seemed a lot of other people were enjoying the food there. With a place called Five Star Honduran food, the food better really be 5 stars. And here, it actually was! I have never tried Honduran food, so it was my first experience, and it was amazing. I would love to go back. I tried the Nuegados De Yuca Con Miel (cassava with honey), plantain, a pupusa de queso (cheese flatbread), and an empanada. The empanada was the only item that I thought was just okay. It was pretty average. A little too hard on the outside, and the moisture in the container led it to being soggy. The beef was pretty well seasoned but dry. It was also served with a tasty, fresh salad, which had some cheese on it as well. It was mostly lettuce, though. Now, the pupusa was out of this world! It reminds me a bit of a cachapa if you've ever had those. Cheesy, soft on the inside, crunchy on the outside. Simple but very tasty. And, it's served with some tasty pickled vegetables that add a nice crunchiness. The sauce it's served with reminds me a bit of marinara as well, it's quite good. Definitely recommend, and I'm sure the bean stuffed one is even better. The plantain was the best plantain I've ever had, and I am a big fan of sweet plantains. It was absolutely humongous and very sweet. A tad oily, but not especially so. Genuinely very good, and soft too. It was served with what I think is sour cream, and that complimented it really well. Almost tasted like plantain with ice cream. Finally, the cassava with honey, that was an awesome dessert. I would say that it tastes like gulab jamun with a chewier texture. Soaked in tons of sweet syrup, touch of something like cinnamon, and overall, just very very good but also extremely sweet. All in all, I loved essentially everything from this place. It’s an excellent introduction to Honduran food, with awesome prices and incredible flavors. I highly recommend this spot! Great food! I highly recommend the cheese papusas, their menu doesn’t have the most appetizing pictures but the real food is so good, we ordered different dishes and they were all so good. Staff are very friendly Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

Loved it! The empanadas were delicious. I liked the flour ones just a bit more, but both were great. I also had the shrimp with coconut milk, which was very good. The tamales were good too. The plantains were the best I've had anywhere else. We'll definitely be back again! Food: 5 Service: 5

I had the el tipico carne asada and hibiscus drink. I don't think this drink is on the menu. Very delicious and the plate appears just as in the pictures. Got an empanada de maíz con pollo and a pupusas de frijol con queso to go. Excited to find a Honduran place in the Pittsburgh area. I like the flavors which are not typical as in what you would imagine. Neither are they spicy in themselves (add hot sauce if you want). The environment and service is very nice. My only drawback is that the dining area was cold. I know it is hard with so many cold days, but it is a downer for some people. I kept my coat on and enjoyed the food though. My family isn't into too many different flavors. I didn't hear anyone complain about the food though or that it was cold inside. I will definitely be back and hope to bring others to try it as well. This little hidden gem in Coriopolis is amazing !! We live in Munhall and since being told about this place we make a drive over at least five times a month. Everything me and my family have had here has been delicious 😋 The chichirone pupusas our our favorite ! But the tamales are the best we have ever had in Pittsburgh - no one else’s compares !! We have enjoyed the empinadas, coco shrimp , taquitos and others and not one complaint !! To top it off the waiters and waitress there (Ever & Karolina) are an asset to the place ! Amazing food, amazing service ….what more can you ask for ??
