Food = Burt ends were amazing, as well as the brisket and the pull pork! that cornbread is hands down the best in the state! The recent remodeling makes the place feel more like you are at a backyard cookout, which absolutely awesome! Seeing the owner(Steve) working the entire restaurant, cleaning, picking up and directing the staff was absolutely refreshing! some restaurant owners behave like tyrants, this is the complete opposite, well done Mr. Uliss! Our Server Carly was attentive, knowledgeable, patience and displayed amazing listening skills. Not once did we have look for him or wait for an extend period of time as he was always near by and ready to help. It had been over 10 years since I last visited and will definitely be around more often. My girlfriend and I come here whenever we want BBQ, specifically their Burnt Ends are to die for. It’s the best-tasting barbecue I have had in Massachusetts bar none, although nothing can compare to BBQ south of the Mason-Dixon. Service is great, their whisky and bourbon selections are incredibly large, and prices make sense. The layout and decor of the place seems a bit odd however— as in it does not seem to fit the style of restaurant. All in all I would easily reccomend this place when you are craving BBQ. Chicken and waffles were decent, not something to remember. The sides were pretty good, but the brisket was TERRIBLE! It was dry, overcooked and farrrrrr too much salt as if it penetrated the meat. I say this with total confidence: Firefly’s is up there with BTs for some of the best BBQ in the state. Seriously. The pulled pork on white toast was perfectly seasoned, and depending on the sauce, has a nice kick to it to round out the delectable flavor and consistent texture. It pairs excellently with the dirty rice n beans. The real star of the show, however, was the Buttermilk Fried Chicken. Most fried chicken is totally bland on the inside, with all the flavor just on the crispy skin — this is not the case here. The chicken not only had amazingly delicious and crispy skin, but also tender and juicy meat, with plenty of flavor to boot. The greens were a perfect balance, not too vinegary, not too salty, just right. I also cannot, in good conscience, forgo discussion regarding the beignets. Total showstopper. You’ve gotta try it for yourself. Add the amazing and speedy service on top, and you’ve got a must-visit spot in the Marlborough area. I can't believe this was my first time here! Food is 👏🏽 absolutely 👏🏽 amazing 👏🏽. Service was on par as well. Well worth the price. This place is legit BBQ! The portions are gigantic, we had way to much food. The picnic for 6 and there was 5 of us for dinner. The fried chicken might have been the best I have ever had, couldn't stop eating it! The ribs where fall off the bone, and the sauces are delicious. For the Bourbon lovers, they have an impressive selection over 200 bottles with alot of really hard to find ones. Steve the owner came by introduced himself and made sure everything was good. It was better than good it was great. Jessica was our server and was awesome, the staff was awesome seemed that 4 to 5 other staffers where there to help either clearing the table or bring us food and just checking in. This was impressive to me because how busy they were, the place was packed. Seriously I had such a great experience I'm looking forward for a return visit and for more of that fried chicken! Fantastic BBQ! Great service, super helpful and friendly. The staff was super knowledgeable and you could tell they were all happy to be there. The burnt ends, Thai Caramel Ribs, and sweet potato pudding were out of this world. Everything was yummy but those blew me away.
