Fat Ernie's Family Dining in Wichita is a great place to go for home-style cooking. The portions are huge and the prices are incredibly affordable. The daily specials, like chicken alfredo and "Yardbird", are all you can eat, making it a great value. The staff is friendly and accommodating, even going so far as to cook chicken wings at 6:15AM for a customer. The homemade pies are also delicious and highly recommended. With great food and friendly service, Fat Ernie's is definitely worth a visit.

What a find! Great food, great prices, great service. This was like going back in time to when I was a kid in the nineteen sixties. Upholstered booths, counter service with fixed bar stools, warm atmosphere. We were only passing through Wichita, but if we ever get back, we'll eat here! 1st time going here and i will most definitely give my honest review. When I first went in the place was packed!!! Most would complain, but to me that's a good sign. We finally got to our table and the waitress was on her game. Excellent service even after she mentioned she had just been swamped with guest, which I myself witnessed. She was very friendly and let us know what the most desirable foods were there and even told us about the all you can eat menu. A+ service there. We have 2 kids and she knew to put kids lids on their apple juices which was awesome. Time for the nitty gritty. kids got burger and fries and macaroni. The burger was real beef and had flavor, but the large bun made the bun to patty ratio way off. the patty definitely was not visible and it didn't come with lettuce or tomato. The homemade fries were good but could have used a sprinkle of salt. the macaroni was good and had flavor. I had the fried chicken all you can eat. the baked potato was excellent however you have to cut it yourself. It was super soft on the inside and the butter addition was nice. The green beans were probably the biggest disappointment. i was looking for the bacon and onion, but it was just beans. No flavor and tasted like out of the can. Let's move on to the chicken. My My My!!!!!!! Hot fresh and can i get some more please!!! 1 wing had feathers on it but that doesn't personally bother me. I mean.... Its a chicken. Chicken had crisp and flavor and was not dry! Pricing was amazing and there's no better feeling than leaving a restaurant and feeling like you got what you paid for. We will definitely go back again. #seasonthebeans

I have eaten here over the span of about ten years. It has remained consistent in quality and service. It is their typical roadside care with above average food. I eat and critique all over the US. This is the A #1 home town food. Feb 24. Still great. Under $10.
