Sababas has the most amazing falafel in Bocas del Toro & the best I have tried. It's homemade!! The lovely lady gave me a sample yesterday, and it was so good I came here for lunch today. Very very happy I did! The fries were also perfect (they are salty as, I love that. If you don't ask for them not as salty) I think there perfect as they are though. I ordered the falafel plate. My word, there was so much food that comes with this order, and all of it tasty! Seven falafel, pita, tomato cucumber salad, seasoned onions, olives, hummus, baba ganoush, fries and a couple other small sides. My wife had the shakshoukah, and she loved that too! This place has a nice and calm atmosphere. Very original decor, some unusual accents. But quite enjoyable to the eye. We arrived into quite a busy scene. Majority of the tables were full. Service was a bit slow- understandably, but we really were taken care of and assured by a great waiter -Nicko... We really appreciated his service. Top ranking on the island I would say. The food was simply delicious. Everything was super fresh.. super tasty. The smoothies- awesome combinations. We left joyful and more than satisfied. We will definitely try it again. TONS of food for a very decent price in Bocas! I recommend bringing a friend or preparing for leftovers, but the falafel plate was incredible! It came with fluffy pita and more dips than I could have imagined - it was also some of the best falafel I have ever had, crispy and fresh!! Great freshly made food. You can see and taste that the owners are really passionate about serving great quality food. The surprise meal was super nice. The shakshuka was great as well. Would be nice if the restaurant had a bit more ambiance, but the food makes up for that in so many ways! A real treat! Tucked into a corner next to the Chabad, my husband and I found this delightful Kosher Mediterranean restaurant serving delicious falafel pitas and a variety of other lunchtime options. We didn't order one of their fresh fruit smoothies, but our waiter Nicholas (a young guy with a gentle personality and an old soul) brought us a sample anyway. Made from fresh blueberries and other fruit, the smoothie was honestly the best I had ever tasted. It turns out that they offer them both straight and with boozy options; we returned another day to try one, but alas they were closed. It will have to wait for our next visit to Bocas del Toro. Great authentic food, service and decor with cold AC. Sandwiches are great. Plates are large and honestly could be a meal for 2 to share. Humus and Tahini are the real deal. The green shug Israeli hot sauce is spicy, don’t overdue it. Massive improvement since the last time I came and it was just a outdoor shack operation Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
