Nice little place, ordered the roasted artichoke, filet was ordered medium rare, ended up coming out medium well.. just kept it.. flavor was good; but very over cooked for my liking. Chicken fried steak felt and tasted like it was old and reheated. Table was sticky and service was extremely slow. Place was empty. This place used to be really good. Haven’t been in a long while and it should have been an obvious sign on a Sunday morning with no one there that it’s a place to avoid. This place went downhill. I went in a Friday afternoon and we walked out. The place had a funny (old dirty smell). There was only one other large party that was loud sitting in there middle of the restaurant. Outdoor seating was not available. Meme was a shell of what it used to be, mainly burgers. The waiter said they had just opened after begging closed for a few months due to a gas leak. If I ever go back it'll be years from now to see if they have returned to being a quality establishment. Tried this place out after a friend recommended their ribs. Tasted pretty good, not sure if the ribs and tri tip are old or if the cook didn’t wash their hands because I immediately, and I mean IMMEDIATELY, got the squirts. Yep, my toilet got destroyed as soon as I got home, and it wasn’t pleasant. This used to be my go-to spot for the farmers market for me and my family. I used to be a local and then moved to idaho. Came back for a visit and during Farmers Market found out that the regular kitchen is closed during farmers. My grandmother was very disappointed because she doesn't eat very much meat and they have or at least used to have amazing salads and other entrees. I don't know what the hell they're thinking but looks like we won't be coming back. Food: 5 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4

Very cool steakhouse in downtown SLO. Limited creekside seating out in the back. We sat in the back inside dining room where we could still see out to the creek. The back dining area was nice and quiet. The service and food were both fantastic! If you like bloody Mary's then you need to get here, one of the best!

I really must have arrived at the wrong time. The restaurant was very busy hosting a large party of diners. The tables were a mess. My options were to eat in the rear of the restaurant where the tables were dusty and cobwebs hung from the chairs or outside where I would have to deal with flies. The bathrooms were wrecked. The soap dispenser was inoperable. With all this...I decided to drink heavily and try to enjoy my meal. The drinks were strong and the food was excellent. They advertised that they were open on Sunday. Made a special trip to go there only to find at 6 pm McClintock was not open. If your going to change your hours then please post them ! Only go to McClintocks if you call them first. Vert sckechy hours..

This is a great staple in San Luis Obispo. It's got the atmosphere you would expect for a western bar with animal heads on the road. Most importantly they offer good food that's not disappointing and for great prices. You can't ask for too much more than this. The service is also great they are attentive but also let the table have their own fun and conversations. Only giving the review four stars due to the state of the restroom, there was a lot of wet offsetting toilet paper on the ground, not very hygienic.
